Wrong retraction settings would be my first idea

lethal mantle
#

To see if it is retraction

#

@grand tulip

grand tulip
#

Just post the settings first?

Do you have the sprite normal or pro extruder?

lethal mantle
#

sprite with a 300c heatblock upgrade

#

normal its and ender 3 s1

grand tulip
#

So you have an allmetal heatbreak

lethal mantle
#

yes

grand tulip
#

That could be 2 reasons then first 3 mm is too long for allmetal

#

Second. Pla really likes to stick to metal. Try using an oiler for a while to see if it gets better

lethal mantle
#

its not pla its petg

lethal mantle
grand tulip
#

2 mm

#

Im off now. Midnight already. Good night

lethal mantle
#

k thanks

petg is a hard filament, you should at first start with a temp tower e step and flow calibration. After those 3 you should do a retraction calibration test found here https://teachingtechyt.github.io/calibration.html#retraction , if the problem still exist, your filament probably got some moisture in it so you should try drying it with silica

lethal mantle
#

i dryed it recently and i will do thoese things once i print a calbibration cube with the setting @grand tulip recommended thanks for the info @finite granite

lethal mantle
#

Doesn't look any better I shall try tomorrow

grand tulip
#

To me it looks better ๐Ÿ˜„ important question though at what temp did you asseble your hotend?

grand tulip
#

It needs to be hot tightend otherwise youll get a gap inside your heatblock due thermal expansion and no they are usally never hotthigtend by factory

grand tulip
#

no im just recommending i for fun

#

of course does it matter

#

it creates a gap and a place where filament goes where it should not

lethal mantle
#

is what i meant

#

the test is printing rn @grand tulip

grand tulip
#

its the differnce between a working printer and a 50%cance to destroy your hotend

grand tulip
#

I'll show you how the hotend on a 3D printer works, which might seem much more complicated than it really is. Using a large 3D printed hotend model, I'll explain the correct way to install or change the nozzle.

lethal mantle

so tighten the nozzle

grand tulip
#

correctly and in your case after removing and cleaning it out

lethal mantle
#

it apears to be non clogged when it was hot it went a qaurter rotation more

#

tight

#

Before tightening btw

grand tulip
#

you know what. you do you ๐Ÿ™‚ good luck finding a solution

lethal mantle
#

i checked the nozzle and it was clean and i tightend it

lethal mantle
grand tulip
#

you did not offend me and no im not collecting friendships. i only have a daily limit for helping people and i really dont like it if somebody ask if its really needed. i suggest you try a 1 mm retraction distance and if thats not working an oiler .. and if thats not working your petg is wet

lethal mantle
#

k thank you
