#any reason why this happened? second time and made sure not to move printer or anything

in the preview is there a gab between the black and orange?
uh nope
id try adding a modifier slowing the speed down to 30 mms 1 or 2 layers before the change and see if its works
maybe you print so fast hat you skip steps
how would I do that?
like adding modifiers would slow it down for only the first few layers?
i dont know what you are printing with but if you use prusa slicer https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/prusaslicer/speed-control-in-prusaslicer/
We can adjust speed during printing but I'm wondering if we could have that type of control in the slicer. Ideally we could specify the speed as a per...
yep i am
i dont know waht i wrote makin you think that but that thats very wrong
oh then wdym?
ah i see, so basically just changing print speed after it color swaps
before and keep it the speed that its changed at, or before and a few layers later back to normal?
at first id keep it if it works you can test that too but i guess you start skipping somehow.

dk if this is a me issue or what at this point
dont think print speed is an issue, is it? might be the file?
someone said that this is due to layer shifting, do you think this might be the case?
i mean i watched a few videos and articles and followed through and made sure everythings right, so not sure
reason i doubt it is ive never had a layer shift on any other prints, and doing multiple prints on this with different models and still having the same results makes me wonder
It is possible but thats why we lowerd the print speed. What printer do you have?
ender 3 v2
hmmm
yeah im lost
attach your gcode please and do oxu have a dual extrusion hotend aka 2 single nozzles?
i mean like
on my printer
i have a nozzle
?
there are several methods for a colour change thats why im asking mixing nozzles 2 seprate nozzles etc
oh
i mean
what i do is it pauses for the color change, i pull out the old filament, put in the new one, extrude it til the new filament goes through, and resume
i dont like change nozzles or anything
okay
hmm i think you missunderstood what i asked you to do .. you are still printing with roughly 100mm/s befor the color change is happening
really?
i mean i went in 2 layers before the color switch and added gcode changing it to 50% lower
what would this be showing?
speeds
oh
should i go like 2 layers lower then?
i mean the text is all the way at around 1.5
while the layer below it is still at like 6ish
so not sure
it your printer goes to change colour is it homing or does your print head just move up and starts beeping
it stops print, goes all the way to the left and sits there waiting for me to click the okay button once i switched the filament
there is the possiblilty that M600 is not completly supported .. what firmware version do you have?
im using jyers
hmm personaly i would not use jyers but the professional firmaware
not that jyers is a bad choice but it seems a little outdated
dk, for me its fine
did run into an issue earlier where when I were to pause, the heater timeout wouldnt go away, but had to change a few lines of code in it to get it fixed again
jep that was a marlin bug that got fixed like ...1 or 2 years ago
question. at your filament change do you happen to know what coordinates the printer showed on the display?
its possible that it switched from relative to absolute ..
no, i dont
usally the printhead pauses at x10 and y10 with m600
well i mean x10 is all the way to the left, right
and if you accidentaly switch to absolute coordiantes with m600 that would explain your shift
i think i’m gonna try to do this whole thing in the marlin firmware and see how it goes maybe
i know some things in jyers are stored on the board but don’t think i’ll have any issues
since the shift always seems to be the same i think it is a mix up with the coordinates but i cant put my finger on exactly where the issue is
@patent depot any idea? after colour change printhead is off roughly 1 cm in y
you think i should do it again and watch what coordinates it homes at again then?
what’s that?
Thats homing your x and y axis. In the hope it will give you the right coordinates
hm okay will do that
when do i like do that tho, would it be after i change the filament and the first layer of the text?
After the filament changw yes
a bit stuck, in the same layer where i tell it to swap colors, i cant add the gcode on it, so would I have to do it like a layer after it?
i mean makes no sense homing it a layer after
You can add that g code manualy by opening that file in a text editor
is there one you use?
Microsofts ?
you sure? then just the normal txt editor
found it, so i just put it after m600?
yes
"G28 X Y" right
yes
alright
well
im going to leave with a cliff hanger because timezones suck
1:30am almost for me
never 3dprint at 3 am 😄
good night
night
@signal pelican nevermind, got another problem
after i added the g28 x y
killed itself
öhm okay
thats a new one
im currently running it on my prusa and wait for the filament change
thanks for the help
yep okay am fine then
im so lost on what the problem is
okay now im getting a weird chirping sound from the printer
ah i see
think it was trying to home at the start for some reason, but it wasnt, and then it kills itself
which is why it was making that noise
heres the gcode i changed
looks right too me
hmm odd
i m waiting for my prusa too get to that point and we will see what happens
alright, ill actually try to head out now
ill be on for a couple more minutes to catch your message but will mess around with printer tomorrow
night
okay so it did home and prints at the right location and slowed down but only for the letters
and it prints on the correct position
and i can confirm with out the homing step it would have been that 1 cm off like yours
so its loosing or changing the y position
Horrible Quality but i printet with "wrong" code and at 400% flowsoim happy
hm whatt
so it has to be a printer problem for me
it somehow looses the y position
but with homing it worked
so no idea whats happening at your printer
wonder why my printer died when i put in the g28 code
i’m going to install marlin again tomorrow and see if there’s any difference
so we’ll see
will let you know tomorrow, thank you 🙏
👍
yeah having issues installing the marlin firmware now lol
put the bin file on the card and put it in the printer, turned it on, and just stuck on the creality logo
thinking about it, i think it might be a problem with my version of jyers
because i had an issue where the heater would time out and wouldnt go back to normal if i paused a print, so think it was @kind seal who helped me change a few blocks of code to fix that problem, so most likely thats the reason that it loses the y position
i think you need to change the screen files too when you go back to marlin. but if its fixed now thats nice. what did you change exactly?
hehe dont think im printing soon
rebooted jyers firmware and accidently put zoffset .5mm too low and 3rd bed is destroyed
