#SV06 Plus: Bed fails to autohome

Hello, today I started having a weird issue with my Sovol SV06 Plus where autohoming sometimes doesn't move the bed. You can see in the video that after the extruder is properly homed, the bed wobbles a bit instead of being moved all the way back, as if the printer detects that it's hit the limit already. I'm turning the printer off before it reaches the other limit and the motor grinds the belt.

Some notable things:

  • Had the printer for around 3 weeks, no problems beforehand.
  • Issue comes and goes, sometimes it starts to work but after restarting the printer it appears again.
  • Happens during autohoming both triggered manually and automatically before printing.
  • It first started to happen more or less after I began recalibrating the printer from scratch.
  • I can move the Y axis through the UI just fine.
  • If I offset the bed manually far enough back, I can see it still fails to autohome but prints (that don't cover the entire Y axis) come out perfectly fine.
  • I'm on the latest firmware.
  • I don't see anything wrong with the motor/belt/rails, but not really sure what to look for.

Maybe the feedback in the motor is too sensitive and greasing would solve the issue? I figured I post it here if anyone knows what to check off the top of their head. Next stop is Sovol support.

it looks like this printer has "sensorless homing"? in that case it looks like you need to tune the sensitivity of that

#

adjusting the belt tension could have messed with that

Oh I see there’s an option for this, thanks

If anyone else has this issue I changed advanced settings > TMC drivers > sensorless homing > Y-sensorless from 110 to 100 and it seems to work fine
