Machine: Cr10s
Slicer: Cura
Material: PLA (Overture)
Settings: Nozzle 220°, Bed 60°, Layer height 1.2mm, Infill 20%, Print speed 50mm/s, retraction and Zhop enabled, No support, No additional build plate adhesion.
Issue: I am consistently receiving severe under extrusion.

My printer was performing well for many prints prior, however this issue has stumped me. I have replaced both the extruder and entire hot end components, and am still having this issue. Any and all advice will be taken and appreciated.

Attached is a photo of the result.

please attach the gcode

#

my first guess is that your extruder isn't gripping the filament properly, but let's see what the gcode looks like

I have cr10 smart, I had this issue before

#

The plastic extruder cracks at a bad use

#

does your extruder ticks like a clock at first layers?

#

if yes, check your bed leveling once and raise the nozzle

#

if it still keeps going, check your extruder and nozzle again

#

sometimes clogged nozzle can cause that too

#

if nylon tube has a gap between heatblock, that may cause too

I apologize for the late response, but how do I do that? I attempt to attach it to a message, however discord tells me there is an issue and nothing more.

is the extruder gripping the filament properly? how much force is required for you to pull the filament from the extruder gears?

That's not a publicly available link

google "free file upload" and use one of the first 10 results

143MB 😐

#

it's fine. it's just. maybe get some simple prints working first. 😛

#

gcode seems fine. have you inspected your extruder tension?

torn wharf
#

I have just done so, and I feel that it is currently at the desired tension. I will be doing a quick test.

I have found a problem, if it's not the problem:

#

Would you say too much tension, too little, or is the gear not biting?

not enough. but it's a terribly designed extruder. consider buying a BMG clone. they are cheap enough and work well

What are your thoughts on creality branded metal upgrade/replacement for the extruder? That's what I had originally used when the issue started.

no. don't buy that. it's the same terrible design as the stock extruder.
