Building the printer right now, near the end, I realized the Y axis is not even, one side of it is tilted and not straight. saw a bunch of videos and articles that say to untighten, reposition, and retighten the eccentric nuts, but that doesn’t help either. can anyone help?

if the reassembly does not work i have no idea.. @modern notch go you some

modern notch

it's a flawed design. the real solution is a dual z mod

elfin spruce
#

/what does it do

modern notch
#

adds a second z stepper motor and leadscrew so the right side of the gantry isn't just held up by dreams

#

they sell kits on amazon

Yeah. It's s bad design.

That's really the proper fix

elfin spruce
#

ah, okay will look at that. thanks

# modern notch That's really the proper fix

i got it fixed, but question, when I autohome, both the nozzle axis and the bed axis hit their limit and make a very weird noise. especially the bed, it just moves all the way to the back and keeps pushing even tho it cant go further, and then autohome just doesnt work anymore. why is that?

modern notch
#

please make a video of homing, from start to finish

modern notch
#

my first guess would be a loose connection on wire for the Y stepper (the one behind the bed)

modern notch
#

I don't know what I'm looking at

elfin spruce
#

theres nothing under the bed to hit the limit switch/button

modern notch
#

how was it ever working then? 😛

elfin spruce
#

heres a better picture

#

have no clue, but dont know what im missing, followed 2 videos perfectly

#

or could the bed maybe be too high?

#

like this is supposed to hit the switch?

modern notch
#

it looks like the wheels are in the wrong groove

elfin spruce
#

oh really?

#

didnt change it, it came like that

modern notch
#

maybe not. I don't own this printer.

#

what did you change.. lol

elfin spruce
#

yeah no its in the right spot, other videos show it in the same groove

#

i have no clue lol

modern notch
#

is the bed hitting that stepper motor?

#

maybe your clip even is hitting that stepper motor? 😐

elfin spruce
#

yeah the bed is hitting the motor, but cant lower the motor, so might have to rise the bed?

#

i can change the angle of the motor but even after it still hits it

modern notch
#

move that bed clip and/or raise the bed

elfin spruce
#

yeah clip wouldnt help, gonna try to raise

elfin spruce
#

now stuck on a printing issue

# elfin spruce like this is supposed to hit the switch?

This really doesnt seem right. Too much tension on the springs. So adjusting the bed by turning the knobs should be easy till moderate use of force. Yours seem like you can hardly turn them what will lead to further issues later with that

#

But the wheels seem to be in the right Spot. That Switch is you y-endstop. Its important that this switch is been pushed so you printer has an idea where your bed is. Its called "homing"
