Just picked up this printer a few weeks ago, and most of my prints have been coming out great. However, I'm getting layering issues on the face of the object facing the front. I printed the part pictured twice, once flat and once on its side. All other sides of the part look good.
#Bambu P1P layering issues only on one side

I think it's probably either a vibration issue or something with cooling but its weird that its only one side
Just with the new filament?
Might also be worth trying to print something else if you haven't
I switched a few other things up as well since I started using the new filament, this is my first large object ive made
yeah im probably going to switch back to my old PLA+ and make a benchy
My standard test is to reprint something I know printed well in the past
Same gcode if you can
Not sure how bambu's cloud stuff works
ill see how that goes I guess
I think this black filament might just be bad luck because I also had some bed adhesion problems with it
ok I printed a benchy with my usual PLA+ (same brand, different color) and I think I can still see a few layers that are messed up in the exact same spot
its always the front right corner of whatever I print
leads me to believe its some issue with vibration/oscillation
because if it was an issue with the belts or something it would be uniformly misaligned but the rest of it looks good
weird
are the dimensions correct?
I'm not clear on this, did you try printing the same thing but with a different orientation?
yeah the original two parts were the same thing in different orientations
Very strange
Unless it has something to do with seams
And the seams are that direction
the seams werent even on that side of the object
Possibly a flow issue, if that's the point in the print where infill stops
Too much filament so it spooges out the side
Something to do with retraction/extrusion/flow
Have you contacted Bambu? They offer support
it looks like its a direction change to me and since the bambu has only a limited linear advance i guess thats the issue
so its an issue when the print changes directions?
I think youre right because I’ve also been noticing when the print head moves towards the front the whole frame vibrates heavily but there’s no such issue when it moves in other directions
idk how I would fix that though
maybe I should contact their support or ask on the forum
also I printed the benchy with only 2 walls while the black part had 6, maybe its the walls in particular that are having trouble printing
Definitely worth asking their support, that's priced into the x1
You get like a year warranty
wait I just remembered like a week ago my nozzle ended up scraping against the print bed during calibration, do you think that might have something to do with it?
I might just replace it with the spare nozzle anyways just in case
it went basically the whole length of the plate
bro I figured it out
theres no way
the nozzle is completely bent like 30 degrees and the silicone sock is stuck to the heatsink
no wonder my prints look like shit
apparently this is a common issue
Hello, 3D Printing friends! Today we're going to see how to replace the nozzle and hotend on the Bambu Lab X1 and X1 Carbon! Don't worry, it's not difficult to do.
Did this video help you out, save you a bunch of time, or help you learn something new?

mine looks exactly like this
I forgot to mention this but right after I got it I was running calibration but I accidentally moved the bed while it was running and ended up scraping the nozzle on the print bed for a second or two
that must have been what did it
I didnt think it was a problem since prints were still coming out good but it caught up to me eventually
Gotcha
