So I'm using a aptop with the RTX 4060 Mobile and I have all of the Subnautica settings on high. I have v sync off and I set the frame rate limit to 100 frames per second. My Monitor runs at 165 Hertz. Is it normal for me to get screen tearing when I move the cursor around really fast?

#

I also don't even get 100 fps all the time with these settings but when I turn V sync on I get more frames per second but the frame rate isn't as constant

Also I took my laptop to Memory Express and they told me that no hardware problems were found but I'm still getting microstutters. I don't know what they're coming from

High temps are caused by 2 things: dust build up and dried thermal paste

#

Open up the laptop and spray the fans and heat sink thoroughly with canned air (this will not harm the components)

#

Spray until there is no more dust inside the system.

Then, replace the thermal paste. For laptops, the best paste you can use is Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut

#

If that’s not available, you can use Arctic MX4 or MX6

#

After you’re done with that, you can rule out high temps as the problem and look for other solutions

It might have to do with temperature already

I only had the PC for a few weeks though

Should I be getting any screen tearing at all on Subnautuca at 97 to 100 frames per second with vsync off if my monitor's refresh rate is 165 hertz?

Or does it mean that my GPU is damaged?

#

Also with high settings in Subnautica with vsync off I get 57 degrees c at 97 to 100 frames per second

This might be an issue with drivers or a monitor setting

To cross out the gpu being the problem, switch to a different monitor and see if the same problem persists
