#40 series GPU bios update doing nothing

Generally you don't update the vbios on graphics cards as this can lead to you bricking your card. Are you not sure it's supposed to be the bios of your motherboard? Also what is the issue you're having? Why do you think you're not getting the full performance. Are your drivers updated? What games are you playing. What is the rest of your system specs etc?
Post released by msi. Something to do with issues with with vbios on the 4070ti cards and I dnt have MSI motherboard. Specifically speaking about GPU.
Only on the 4070ti super cards
This was upon release of that card earlier this year. When did you purchase your card as it might have the latest vbios already flashed?
I just purchased it other day and received it yesterday
That's my bios version, seems to be behind, number wise
The updated ones start with 95.03. Mines is 95.02. so I think I have an older vbios
Download MSI center. And run the liveupdate feature. If you see the bios update in the program i'd run it and install it from there. If you don't see an update I'd let it be. Manually installing the wrong or incorrect vbios can brick your card.
I tried msi center. It didn't update anything..
I'm not installing incorrect bios though. It's downloaded from their official site and posted by them. So pretty sure it isn't the wrong one. Just seems as if a program or something is stopping it because promt just closes down.
I might try emailing their support and seeing what they say about it
If you didn't see the update after running the liveupdate that means you're good. It's highly unlikely that you bought a card that has been sitting on the shelf with a dated vbios for 9 months.
Bought it from Amazon so never know🤷🏾♂️ lol
They could of have it since release
Went on deal for $750 so I grabbed it. Just want to get ever bit of performance it's supposed to be getting
That's highly unlikely but contact support if you want to be sure. I wouldn't persue it that hard. Have you ran benches to even see if it is underperforming.
I haven't ran any benches. I came across the reddit thread when I was doing research of possible cards I might get so saved the thread. Only hopped on Greyzone warfare since having it. What program u recommend I bench test it with?
3dmark or Superposition
In either programs after you run them you can compare your GPU and CPU and see if you're scoring close to people with the same hardware.
And would the program show a base performance I should be getting? So I would be able to determine if it's underperforming?
I'm not all into bench testing so dnt know much about it.
Ok. Will try 3dmark and see what up. Thanks for help
@worn gale Did what I'ma assume is the basic test, about 200 below average. Normal?
I'm running the time spy now and will see what that reveals.
Yeah I'd run timespy. Steel nomad is new and is VERY demanding so i'm not sure how optimized it is yet. But once you're done you can hit compare you score online and see where other are. 200 points off isn't underperforming. That's run to run variance type ish. Always best to do a couple of runs (i suggest 3) and see where you fall.
I think time spy benchmark is going to loop 20 times, 60 seconds each. Seem something like that online. When I googled it just now
Ok👍🏾
Naw time spy is one run, You don't have to do the stess test.
Ok
2k off from average but I guess its not that bad because when I compare test results online, it says my score is better than 92% of all results🤷🏾♂️
What's your graphics score?
That's whats a lil bit more important here. Cause the overall takes in account your CPU as well.
22,624 was GPU score and 11,975 CPU score
Is that 22k ok for 4070ti super?
Just googled. Average for my card is around 24k mark, so a lil below average
So wouldn't that be considered underperforming?
That seems about right. CPU is holding you back a bit tho.
My 11900K is scoring a lil bit higher.
