Hello everyone, I am so stumped on an issue I’ve been having. I recently upgraded my CPU, added new RAM, and added an AIO and have been having issues. The main issue I’m having right now is with lag on my dual monitor setup.
In my main monitor I’ll have a game up, and on my second monitor I have Discord, and YouTube. The problem I’m having now is whenever I’m playing a game on my main monitor, everything on the second monitor lags.
My YouTube video lags, my Discord webcam lags, and I made sure turn OFF all Hardware-Accelerated settings. Prior to doing all upgrades, this NEVER happened. I realized the RAM I purchased was not the same matching ram I already had, so I returned it. I had BSOD issues after installing the new RAM, hence why I returned it. Now when I installed my original RAM in slot 1 & 3, my system would not boot, but the second I put the ram in slots 2 & 4, my PC booted up with no problems. I made sure XMP was enabled as well. I even went as far as putting the old CPU back in to see if that fixed the problem, but it did not.
Could my RAM/RAM slots be causing this issue? I noticed when I’m playing Apex Legends and open task Manager, my GPU usage is maxed out at 99%, and CPU is around 30-40%. When I boot up my PC, the DRAM light on the motherboard stays on for about 30 seconds to a minute. When I had the RAM installed in slots 1 & 3, the CPU light on the motherboard came on, and stayed red. Once I put the RAM back in slots 2 & 4, everything booted up normally, and all Motherboard lights turned off (the DRAM light stays on for 30 seconds to a minute, and then turns off)
I am so stumped on what could be causing this lagging issue as it NEVER happened prior to upgrading everything. Would a fresh windows 11 install help? Or is my motherboard possibly screwed in terms of RAM slots?
