My cpu started to overheat really badly starting Wednesday this week. Some cores made it up to 100 C and all ones who didn’t make it to this point well exceeded 90 C. This is over 200 degrees fahrenheit. I would think that that would basically fry it immediately, but it still powers on. To combat it, here are some of the things I’ve done. I’ve taken my aio and cpu out, placed it back in to make sure nothing was crooked and no bent pins, aswell as removing and applying some new thermal paste. I removed the graphics card to help with this process and in doing that removed the battery and put it back in after about 20 minutes to reset the BiOS. Then, put the gpu back in and now I’m stuck on one problem. The pc starts up, all fans and components running, however the debug light will not go past cpu. I’ve also felt the tubes on my aio and I don’t really feel vibrations and it’s not heating up, leading me to think it’s a faulty cooler, however, yesterday during the overheat process, it was getting hot. At this point I’m drawing an absolute blank and am not sure what to do. I am not in the financial position to go buy a bunch of parts that I don’t know will even fix my issues. If there’s absolutely any advice or help that anyone can give me, I’d greatly appreciate it. Here are my specs if you are curious.
Intel i7 12700kf
GeForce RTX 3060 Ti
16 gigs of msi ddr5 ram
Pri Z690-A WIFI motherboard
I’m not sure the exact model, but one of msi’s base aio’s.
Please help.
