#GF63 THIN 10SC COOLING ISSUE - URGENT
77 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
it literally burns me when i touch the area above the fan
even with nothing running it idles around 90 degrees
i have to turn it off and put it in the fridge for like 10 minutes to get it to cool down
rn my cpu usage is only 18% and my cpu is 94 degrees
idling at 90 degrees isn't normal
you should definitely get it looked at/fixed
how long have you had this laptop?
did something happen that cause this?
I wouldn't continue using the laptop in that condition
are the cpu cooler/fans running fine?
try rma if it's still under warranty
otherwise you could try repasting the cpu yourself or have a repair shop do it
alr
i kinda want msi staff in here
lol
this is concerning
it like just started happening in the last week
its prob bc i havent turned it off since like last weekend

imma let my laptop rest and put it in the fridge
its working better
i also cooled my room down
laptop is idling at 70 instead of 90
When you opened up your laptop, were the heatsinks looking like this? https://discord.com/channels/635751301480972298/1118763702372544512 😄
Use a cooling pad if you're not already.
Check your Windows power plan.
You can configure a plan that balances temps and fan noise... that fits your needs
yeah
Search online for your laptop model. Probably youtube videos showing how to disassemble your specific model
soullodolo link to !support... you can try chatting with official msi support
yeah they seem alr now
or to a level you're comfortable 👍
cpu is hovering around 86 degrees
idle?
but thats just bc im running mc with a billion mods
i c
so its prob back under control
Amazon.com: laptop cooling pad
if it doesnt go back down when i close minecraft than i will come back in here
nice. Are you using a cooling pad?
I don't play minecraft, but I heard it's pretty hard on PC systems?
depending on mods
yeah it can be if you run it with alot of mods yeah
and i allocated 10 gb ram to it
Best of luck!
thanks!
Another thing you could try is adjusting your fan curves to be more aggressive.
It should be okay, I accidentally left my GE76 which has a really good cooling solution, touched the top and it felt like a stovetop
I highly recommend opening up, cleaning off the fan with compressed air and do a repaste. The GF63 uses only one fan which is a slight concern but it should be okay.
idling at 70 I see
better than idling at 90 but still toasty
what is your cpu btw?
what power mode do you run?
could also think about undervolting & power limiting your cpu if that is doable
milking all the performance you can I see
