I went endbusting roughly 12 hours after the resrouce world reset. I flew around for about 50 minutes, almost to the world border on 2 diagonal (least traveled) axis. 0 Elytras found out of 6 ot 7 end cities raided. I could have just gone mine diamonds for that 50 minutes and bought 2 elytras, but luckily I have what I need.
So what if the world border in the end expanded slowly and randomly? At day one it could be 2k blocks in every direction, then, after a random and not publicly known/secret time the world border expands by 1k blocks and does so in several random intervals up until res world reset.
This would stop it from there being a giant rush on the end in the first place. / The end being dry of elytras in under 24h.
Players could explore and find elytras at their own pace/how they would in vanilla without having to engage in the economy or racing for it as soon as the reset hits.
This would also ensure that the supply of elytras is constant up until res world reset.
Hoarders would have to check the end every day to see if the border expanded or not and invest a lot more time to have a monopoly on the elytra market.
Idk if this is technically possible or feasable but I think this may be an idea in the right direction for the long term health of the economy.
