Unable to Catch Birds Without Exploit

When I go to catch birds my movement bugs/lags and I am unable to catch them.
The only way I am able to catch birds at all is if I place some bread, bagel, hot dog, etc directly next to me (basically touching my fur) and waiting for a bird to land on it. This doesn’t seem to trigger the alert mode in the birds so when I jump there’s basically no escape.
Please help!!

Try to pounce without holding the jump key like u did in the vid to see if that works

This is a bug, the movement shouldnt be like that, after closing and restarting the game, were you able to pounce correctly without the lag?
