#April gatorman trio (filled?)

I can do any of the gatormen too
I'll get all four prepped for whenever we decide on one
Me too. Your choices. XD
how about the one holding a spear?
How about the axe one? I still need to assemble but this one:
or the axe one works
Oh just missed your spear suggestion! I’m good with either.
I plan to assemble them all anyway and I may put paint on both as I go. If you’re good with axe that can be the primary one ?
yes let's do the axe one now maybe the spear one for a later duo/trio?
i like the details and overall look of these models, but they're a pain to free from those oblong bases. Really wish Reaper would put everything on a circular base - would save me a lot of work!
I don’t rebase unless/until I have to anymore. But lately I feel like their bases fit onto a standard sized base so I’m able to build up on the base rather than remove. That might not work if you are looking to use a presculpted/painted base or if you don’t want the added height.
Do you have the base boss sculpted bases?
Yea, I stopped removing bases. I remembering accidentally snapping the owlbears feet.
I'll assemble mine tonight. ^.^
They are very pokey... all four have been assembled. I'll prime them all tonight and start painting axe dude tomorrow. ^.^
just finished airbrushing the basecoat. Gonna let 'em dry overnight then start detailing later this week
I too just hit mine with green (regular brush though for me)
For a second there I regretted gluing the jaws on already but it wasn’t too hard to hit the inside of the mouth.
Might make mine olive green ish. I'm tempted by making a purple alligator.
That would be cool to see!
I'm done except for drying and varnishing - should have a photo done by this week
I love these gatormen models, lovely details...although why a reptile has nipples is beyond me lol
Lol. Science experiment? Were-gator? Hmm...
i have the advantage of having painted a set of these gatormen already, so my painting process/scheme was already established, which saved me a bit of time 🙂
ok here's mine!
Nice. Mine is currently primed and dry brushed.
Probably not use purple. But I'll see.
I plan on painting those other gatormen eventually, and your purple color idea has me thinking about ways to paint the others with different color schemes (while still trying to make it look "natural")
Ooh I like it! Mine is still just green with a tiny bit of highlight so I have a ways to go.
loads of time left in the month - I'm trying to frontload the month because I've got a bunch of life stuff later in April
This is where im at after one pass of speedpaints.
lookin' good! Coming along nicely
Love it, well done!
Oh very nice! Okay, the bar has been set. Hope mine is not a big disappointment (especially with taking longer to finish). I tend to work on many all at once, do you both focus more on one mini at a time?
it's all art and self-expressing creativity - as long as you're happy with it, who cares what anyone else thinks LOL! I love seeing everyone's different takes on the same model - gives me inspiration for new perspectives
I have 20 primed at the moment and 7 in progress. I thought gatorman was cooler so I had more focus on him instead of the demons and zombies.
I know my levels of painting and I'm letting myself just enjoy coloring instead of trying to perfect something. Eventually, I should be able to level up, my hands are less shaky then before and I have more patience foe the paint to dry instead of picking up spots and removing paint. XD
I typically only do one at a time, but RCL motivates me to prep more models. Currently I have 4 primed and 1 I'm working on. I keep my mountain o' grey in a box next to my painting station to remind me my work is never done LOL
3 of those 4 primed are the other gatormen
actually, I just noticed I have another half dozen zenithal primed (the henchmen from Bones 5). I got side tracked and forgot about them
@steady hemlock I think it looks great! Give me a day or two and I'll put all ours together into a single picture and submit. It was great painting with you and @sturdy kayak - let's do it again some time 🙂
blends nearly seamlessly into your pre-existing terrain - would make a fine addition to any swampy encounter!
That's awesome camouflage. Haha.
These gators are fun. I started up the one with the poking stick. ^.^
Trying a gray scheme, but the front carapace paint came off... so need to start over on that.
Thanks! So do you use photo editing when submitting? I don’t usually get fancy but I’m always curious to learn what folks use.
I like that look. Could be a different type of crocodilian (crocman vs gatorman?)
GIMP, which is free Photoshop. Nothing fancy, just getting them labeled and in a single shot
