#Updated WOT Explaining Mechanics

All the videos I’ve seen are outdated, dating back 8 to 11 years. They provide detailed, in-depth tutorials specifically explaining core mechanics. However, the game and its tanks have evolved dramatically since then, with vastly improved graphics, dynamic terrain, and refined development that completely changes how everything plays. Console-specific tutorials would be incredibly valuable given these unique platform differences. I far prefer Wargaming’s official, professional presentation style over other creators who just play and talk casually—it’s far clearer and more effective. Thank you, and I eagerly await your response.

In terms of WWI, the mechanics we share with PC are pretty much the same in most regards. With some pinches of salt due to skills, equipment etc CW however there are more mechanics, but alot still follows the WWII stuff. With how small a team WoTC actually has, getting them to actually make tutorials explains other mechanics is never going to happen unfortunately.

They are either too overloaded in the area that would require it, or treat the mechanics like there is a game that actively trying to use the exact same mechanics and calculations.

Pretty sure CW ricochet's work differently @junior cipher

Well, if it is then thats when the select bits that are different need to be well documented or explained. Kinda why I also said alot follow WWII, not everything, to cover the bits im not 100% on

It still takes time to sit down, record whats needed, get the people in that are actually able to talk about it, do the editing that needs to be done, and then get around to uploading it. Again, not something that WoTC with a far smaller team then PC is going to invest the time and luxury into.

PC are, revisiting some of there videos and renewing them. But if the mechanic haven't changes and the information in the videos are well detailed and precise, why would you go into the effort of renewing a video for the sake of it. Would it be nice? yes. Would it be helpful if WoTC actually had time to explain more of the CW mechanic? Yes. Would they personally got back and redo a video still explain the core mechanics in WWII to this day? Probably not (Again due to Probably having barely enough staff to cover what they are currently doing)

The most up to date videos for console are going to be on @potent lion 's channel

Pretty much. And that's only with mechanics we have been told of. Again, most of which is, go search the WoT PC wiki or the older videos since they have stayed virtually the same. The only things that change for us is the calculations used 7/10 time.

No offense, but videos like WoTC Academy aren’t quite what I mean—they’re appreciated, but they don’t match WoT explanations of mechanics.
Key Differences
WoTC Academy content, while valuable, lacks the depth of official WoT videos on game mechanics. Console mechanics differ from PC in key ways, like aiming and controls. I feel that WoT explanation of mechanics—11-year-old PC videos—are outdated and insufficient.
Community Feedback
Discussions on this Discord frequently highlight the need for updated console-specific guides and even training simulators. Complaints about poor players often stem from these gaps in accessible, current training resources.
Bottom Line
With limited resources, it feels like a moot point, but better official console content would help everyone improve. Hopefully, it’s not a budget bottom-line issue when it should be a customer satisfaction issue.

Just would like to throw out this key bit of evidence and recent discovery, it was only a couple months ago that the playerbase learned that track damage is based off alpha and not module damage

Those kinds of things being "state secrets" is kinda ridiculous

Thats where videos or guides explaining the stuff we are still missing is useful. But thinks like penertration mechanics, spotting, camo etc, that for the most part hasnt changed at its core and is just the variable in the calculations, WG arent going to spend the effort re explaining it.

They did the armour inspector video that briefly explains part of the penertration mechanics, but the older video from like 8 years ago is still accurate for whats needed to explain the mechanic, all be it on older graphics etc.

Are you just saying words? “Track damage is based on alpha, not module damage.” WG is missing a real opportunity to improve customer satisfaction by making an official video explaining that clearly. Commentary from players driving around and analyzing their own gameplay is great and appreciated, but some of us learn better from detailed, structured presentations that break things down step by step.

but my point was, i look at the prospect of changing the sherman guide everytime WGing changed rules. Others have many guides.
