#*Idea for Cyber Monday 2025

Gold is always on sale, it's built into the pricing. The more you get, the cheaper it is. You get about 47% more gold per USD for the 25k bundle than the 850, for example.
On that note, one thing I've noticed in a few F2P games these days is a bonus amount on your first purchase of gold. Subsequent purchases either get a much reduced bonus or no bonus.
Dunno if it's worth considering at 12 years down the line, but I would be a liar if I said I haven't utilised those offers before
Wowsl occasionally gives vouchers that give extra doubloons when you purchase x amount i wouldn't mind seeing something like this as a little bonus every now and then. I've certainly been suckered into buying some so i don't waste the vouchers that i wouldn't have bought otherwise.
Gold isn't always on sale as the price never changes so it's not a sale that's just its base price, yes you get a discount buying in bulk compared to in smaller amounts (true for most things) but that doesn't mean it's on sale.
You can instead take the opposite view 25k gold £70/$100 is the benchmarked reasonably priced bundle and all other prices for lesser amounts are arbitrarily marked up and overpriced in comparison being the best valued bundle doesn't mean its on sale.
As @austere charm was making a fuss of at some point the ultimate season pass isn't on sale either.
As the cost is consistently always the same price. That just become it's price there's no saving on it compared to the last 10 season passes 6k gold is just the ultimate bundles pricetag
*No... not just the normal so-called sale you say is there, and the price is always the same. I mean like a REAL Sale! One day, Go Crazy! 50% off overall. 25,000 gold for $50 US. The players would go nuts, and buy as much as they could. I know I would. It's all virtual for you guys, it's nothing but money in the bank for you! (Probably too late now though. Maybe next year?)
This would mean that instead of 50% off the thing you buy, it'd have to be full price if the Currency is discounted instead. It doesnt' work out to be any cheaper.
Will also mention, discounting the items means you can buy more items. Discounting the currency means you'd get less items for that same amount of gold.
*Okay... what you said made no sense. "It'd be full price but not cheaper".
For one day, we the customers would get to buy 25,000 Gold for half price to us.
We the customers would want to buy a lot of Gold at this half price... knowing that this deal would probably never happen again.
You have 10,000 Gold that Cost $10 normally
Item Cost 2,000 Gold Each normally
- You could buy 5 Items
You have 10,000 Gold that Cost $10
Item Cost 2,000 Gold buts its on 50% discount so are 1,000 Gold each
- You could buy 10 items
You have 10,000 Gold that cost $10 but is on 50% discount for $5
Item Cost 2,000 Gold
- You could buy 5 Items
You have 10,000 Gold that cost $10 but is on 50% discount for $5. You buy 2 packs for $10 to get 20,000 Gold
Item cost 2,000 Gold each
- You could buy 10 Items
^Same as discounting the item for 50% off, You get 10 item for $10. What you discount results in the same value for money.
It wouldn't make any difference, the cost is the same as discounting the item.
*I am not seeing this logic. Where are you getting this "I could buy 5 items"? What items?
First of all, 10,000 Gold is is not $10. It's $40 (Plus tax and Xbox fees.)
Second, you don't sell 10,000 Gold for any price. You sell 12,000 Gold for $50 (Plus tax and Xbox fees.)
You sell 25,000 Gold for $100 (Plus tax and Xbox fees.)
I am trying to say that you, WG, sell packs of 25,000 Gold for $50, not $100... for one day. I am not talking about discounting any other "items", or devaluating any other tanks or packages in your Store. Yes, we know you do occasionally have certain deals on certain tanks at certain times. I am not talking about any of that.
But you know what. Nevermind. You can double-talk me all you want. Or you can just say "WE ARE NOT GOING TO EVER DO THAT." and then do what you always do. You'll lock me out of my own thread, and stop anyone/everyone posting about it.... or you'll just delete the thread entirely.
Hello, the post above is an example to show you how the math works out and that what you are asking makes 0 difference. Discounting the Gold or Discounting the items, results in the same exact cost.
Unsure what you are getting hostile about, I'm only showing you the math of what you are asking for in this thread.
Its not double-talk, its providing you information for what you asked.
*What I am saying is.... Most people will buy one pack of 25,000 Gold for $100... and they will ration that Gold out for as long as they can. You get 1 purchase for one customer for $100 (or whatever you get after Xbox fess and such).
If the Gold was discounted for that special deal.... maybe from that one customer you would get $250 to $500... or possibly more because it would be too good a deal to pass up for anyone. Multiply that across hundred or thousands of players buying this Discounted Gold. That is money you would make that normally you would not get at all.
I'm not sure you are understanding how a discount works. If you discount the Gold, that means there is no discount on the items. You spend the same amount either way as shown in the example above.
Unless your hope is that both Gold and Items are discounted to double stack discounts for 75% off
*Where are you getting these other discounted items from?
Items are the things you buy with gold
You keep bringing up these discounted items at the same time as discounted gold. I am not talking about discounting any items. I know items are things you buy with Gold.
I'm unsure what you are confused with. The items that you are buying with your gold, have discounts on them.
Sometimes, yes...Certain items... sometimes.
Most items.
No
Ok then. There is nothing further I can add here then. I tried to explain it above on the why so can take it or leave it. That's up to you.
What you are saying is that "WG" doesn't like the idea of discounting it's own currency in a sale, even a one-day sale.
It is already on sale, and the items you can buy are also on sale. If we double-discount the Gold that means we can no longer put in-game items on sale as the discount is now on the Gold instead.
It is not beneficial to the player.
Also don't take this is a "never" and maybe there are other ways we could do things that relates to the suggestion.
