is it possible to change L1 and down on the d-pad in the default setting

problem with default config is who uses down on the d-pad to handbrake

problem with handbrake config is when switching ammo types you end up reloading in crucial moments

bonus question can you add handbrake to driver config

I think there are 6 or more controller configurations. Check Settings. I use one of the alt handbrake ones, can’t remember exact name, X is the break. PlayStation
