Taran cost to buy in Silver

Apparently the Taran will be coming up for sale for 100,000,000 million in silver, double the current Elite 8 asking price of 50 million. If I have done my maths right that is an equivalent Gold price of, 250,000 thousand for 1 tank. If I have made an error, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Silver is a free currency, gold is not. That is why it costs significantly more silver. Also the gold to silver conversion rate is an absolute scame as it is.

Yep your math is right. As kellen said above that is the reason why it's cost is so high. It's too bad they are so expensive because that kind of silver is so hard to come by if you mainly play ww2. Makes a fella wish for separate currencies

Yes, Silver I have, but it's still the maths that gets me. If I convert 7,000 Gold to silver that would generate 2,800,000 silver (The Gold cost of the Tier 8 T42 being 7,000 Gold). Yet WG are asking 50,000,000 silver for a 7,000 gold tank that in theory should cost around 3 million in silver. The Tier X Taran sells for 22,500 Gold. Roughly 7,000 x 3 is 21,000 in Gold so 3 million in silver multipled by 3 is 9 mill, so lets round up a 22,000 gold Tier X should be about 10 Million in Silver cost. 100 million minus 10 million is a difference of 90 Million. Interesting sales mark up for buying with silver instead of Gold. Just saying.

And for the record for won't be getting a Taran.

That is a ridiculous markup. I probably won't buy the Iron Rain after all. The moment my silver is almost used up they'll likely change things to drain away the rest of it. I did run out of silver during my early months, (foolishly spent Gold removing equipment to get silver back), so I know how that situation feels.

So 100,000,000 divided by 7 days is 14,285,715 a day. Say in CW, Era 1, you get 100,000 silver per game thats around 145 battles per day for 7 days with each battle earning 100,000 silver. Say 7 minutes per battle (including waiting, playing, back to garage queuing again) for 145 games thats 1,015 minutes or 16.91 hours play time per day. I think that's about right .

Um no I don't play Tier 10 Coop. I do use Coop mode if an OP/Task from WG allows me to quickly finish a specific requirement. My math examples are PVP based.

I took a guess, at 50,000 silver per battle it would take 30 hours a day 🙈, if its 200,000 a game it would be about 8 hours a day for 7 days. Roughly.

I was simply replying to the post from NotPhrizby. So if you get 300,000 silver a game that's about 48 games a day, that is 336 minutes or 6 hours about a day, assuming you get 300,000 ever game at 7 minutes a game.

While grinding a Tier X from the tech tree might take me about 2 months of grind

100M for the taran (or any good tier X) is really cheap

I have almost 250 mil in silver. I collected so that I can play tanks that lose silver, use prammo, when needed, and buy tanks on the TT without keeping them stock. I did not collect it to spend almost half of it on one tank, then spend to equip it. I am passing.

You’re pretty much in line with my account atm and I did buy a 100mil tank last event when I was around the same 250mil mark and I can reassure you that you really won’t be at risk of going broke if you bought one tank. 🙂

But again. The silver option is strictly there for those that have the amount to burn and wanted a way to off load some of it. It was never intended to be an option for everyone

I’ve gotten over a million in games before but I still won’t pay 100 million silver on a tank. I have it to spend just not willing to do it. That and I already have all the tier 10 premium tanks anyway.

I have discovered that getting silver is not what it used to be. It is now, much easier than in the past. Since I rarely grind on the TT any more, rarely spend it. However, I am pretty sure, I will get another opportunity. 😀

Some players have accumulated a lot and a mean a lot of silver and have asked the devs to give us events that we can use to spend our silver on. And they finally delivered.

If you have the silver, why not? The FORAD is good. Or used to be before Era 2 was destroyed by the Wiesel 1 MK and ELC SS. But you could still buy it and hope gameplay in Era 2 gets better.

This is one instance where the tech version at top of era 2 is better. The French line with 2 guns are all op. You get to melt paper tanks

FORAD is mid tier. Also silver bonus makes a huge difference because HEAT is the standard ammo. APCR is premium.

But Era 2 is terrible right now. I wouldn't recommend paying gold for any Era 2 tanks right now. The gameplay is not good.

That said, I think I did get 250k silver in one battle last week, but that was an especially good one (multiple kills, 8k dmg, 1st place, iirc) and it may have included an earned silver reward. It certainly was an exception.

No, it's the swimming pool and the warm weather to use it that I'm envious of right now. 😉 Quite why he bothers playing Tanks at all is beyond me. So many better things he could be doing.

(Don't leave though mate. If you like Tanking, that's perfectly fine by me. I'm still here too, but I have 2 ft of snow on top of 2 inches of ice outside, so the pool, if I had one, would be completely unusable anyway).

That doesn't seem to work for tiers 9 and 10 though, due to the lack of bonus in those tiers' premiums. In tier 10, if your team lose badly enough, you can actually end up LOSING silver.

The only tier 10 tank with silver boost is the 249 the rest has as far as i know now boost in silver same for tier 9

That should perhaps be changed to something like Era 1 in CW. If WG want more players in tier 10 that is. Currently it's perhaps the least attractive tier to play. (Unless you're there in a tier 8, like I usually am. Then you can often come out well. Better than most tier 10s do).

This is slightly off topic. But I don't like cold war premiums/vehicles being pushed into WW2.

You can tell that tanks like the Panzerjager, Taran, were just ripped from cold war, given new stats and decals and put into WW2.

Fair enough. I understand that WG wanted, from the very start, to go beyond 1945. Even before CW the game had issues with WWII tanks vs post war. I don't believe the current system works but the solution is not obvious or cheap to find either. Sadly.

that one doesnt make sense seeing as the panther 88 has pmm. by default it wouldnt be facing the chieftain unless you are platooning with nonpmm 8s. then you are willingly choosing to void your pmm.

However, I do get the point you are making.

I've frankly never cared about what tanks get added to classic mode (what WWII mode really needs to be called). its a loose timeline across the 20th century and yes you have 1960s tanks as low as tier 4. so as long as the tank meets the criterion set for the mode I don't care. I frankly prefer CW tanks over WWII ones but I absolutely hate CW mode, so I'm personally happy I'm getting more CW tanks in classic.
