Potential Bär replacement

The Bär is, unfortunately, a fundamentally flawed tank. As it is a remarkably tall vehicle with zero gun depression and a poor gun arc, it will always be a sub-par vehicle. This isn't WG's fault by any means, the basic design is just not suitable.

So, what is. Surprisingly, WWII Germany did not develop much in the way of super-high calibre SPGs. 15cm was pretty much where they stopped, with limited 17cm and 21cm designs. And we pretty much have those. Anything larger is basically a siege artillery, with some abominations being multiple tank chassis connected to a single railway cannon or other absurd designs. There's the Karl Great, but that's not really suitable either.

Thankfully, we have two possibilities.
Firstly, the originally proposed Sturmtiger. This was to be equipped with a 210mm mortar.
Nothing fancy, and both the gun and chassis are known.

Second opinion is a tad crazier. The 30.5cm GW Tiger.
Unlike the rest of the line, it would have poor armour. Unlike the Bär, however, it looks like it can actually have gun depression. Probably not much, but some. It is also mounted at a much lower point.

Keep the Bär as a premium, perhaps make it into a full SPG or a SPG/TD hybrid with indirect fire. Add the GW Tiger as yet another oddball, but one that is actually playable.

No, large caliber guns should not have effective platforms. There is a fine line between meme HE tank and broken HE tank. Sticking firmly to the meme side with 305mm guns seems safer

I don't disagree.

However, the entire line gets at least some gun depression. Hence why I feel that the Bär is out of place.

The tank should be memey and unreliable, but having a couple of degrees of gun depression is necessary.

I'm more of a fan of exploring the arty hybrid. I wonder if there's a way for WG to make a limited arc view for derp guns to use the drop more effectively

The line could have the indirect view added as a feature, including the Bär, as well as having the marginally more flexible GW Tiger variant

It's still going to be a flawed tank, even with indirect fire, but having it out of the TT should help potential Sturmtiger owners who have been otherwise put off

I see it as a greater Fortress Ferdinand. Since I love the Fortress, I would buy the premium Bar. Slap a skin on it like Fortress and roll it out. It could be a lot of fun.

I mean not every tank is gonna be good in a tt like I enjoyed the bar but the t8 French heavy tank I hate but that's the purpose of grinding for something u want
