Tier IX
-turret armor buff
-cupola buff
-dpm buff

Tier X Maus

  • frontal turret armor buff ( 280mm as suggested in the reply or more would be welcomed )
  • dpm buff or change 490 dmg to 530 or 560

Maus even with your dream angle in the actual game it gets penned in the frontal turret by any e4 e3 t58 heavy and any 340+ tanks. Meaning 2/3 of the enemy team.
And while you do 490 every 10 sec you get 850 every 13 sec

Please consider giving some love to the Maus

The damage is fine on the t10 but I just want a dpm buff

molten fox
#

Ye I would prefer the dpm being better

brazen swan
#

only agree with maus. mäuschen is alright

#

it’s maus in t9, just little bit worse armor

#

maybe small hp buff when there is 850 difference between those tanks

#

I want them to give the Maus the 17cm cannon that it was planned to receive in WWII.

I would really like to see it with a similar gun to the WT E100... 12.8 cm gun with actual dmg potential (560 alpha), decent pen and perhaps a reload of 10.5 seconds... i feel like 3.2k DPM would be enough to let this beut shine again

I don't think the gun needs a buff, maybe 530 DPS, but that's not the problem, it's not very good but ok for a super heavy tank. But its turret armor is not super heavy, which makes it as ridiculous and useless as a big bunker with a big cardboard door, it's a shame its hull armor is good but no one needs to shoot it.

Just 260/210/210 -> 280/220/220

or increase the rotation speed to be able to angle it much faster after the shot

# stray pasture Armor yes but the gun has very low dpm but yet the e100 gets the same exact gun ...

the maus has a worse gun than the e100 because it should have a much higher survivability than it and with a good gun in addition it might be a bit too much. the only problem for me is that it has a worse gun but in addition it is not even better armored the tank would still be useless with a better gun but the same armor but it would be enough to improve its turret armor to make it better even with the same gun at least it could survive a few gold shells in sidescrap. the bad dpm is there to balance its long survivability but unfortunately it does not have it to use it all game if it had it it would be enough.

I think this because when the team in front of me does not use too many gold shells the armor works and I end the game with a lot of damage if it seems to do little it is just because now it only survives very little time in the front line so its bad dpm is seen much more than it should. by being strong enough to survive longer his average damage will be better in the long run without even touching the weapon and with a better weapon he might be too strong.

It's only the turret that ruins the tank because ALL medium tanks can penetrate it with gold regardless of its position.

Super heavy=gold magnet=
No fun +arty firing gold with top down view magic shell physics=really no fun

As someone who was really excited for super heavies it was a big let down. Especially when I got maus avre got added🥲🥲🥲

fervent agate
# stray pasture The survivability it much worse than a e100 and dpm makes up a lot in the game

yes currently its survivability is less good than that of the E100 but it would only be enough to improve its armor so that it becomes a tank usable in sidescrap. before it had a gun less good than today's but as it survived longer the tank was still much better unfortunately today the players just all play full gold so it is necessary to readapt the armor of the tank accordingly not necessarily its gun because its role should not be to inflict damage quickly but to stay alive as long as possible to take the hits in place of the others and to inflict damage over a long period even if the dpm is low the tank will be good if it survives long enough unfortunately today you are right this is not the case this is what makes the tank bad but it is not really because of its gun but of the game which does not give any chance to the role of the super heavy tank.

stray pasture
fervent agate
# stray pasture The tank is rear mounted to it has more weakness compared to most heavys and yes...

today sidescraping doesn't help because everyone shoots in their catastrophic turret the 705A has a turret at the rear and is much stronger while it has a DPM barely higher than the maus in its current state I agree with you it would be necessary to improve its gun but it would be necessary to improve its armor as a priority and if it gets this buff see later if it is also necessary to improve its gun because having a good gun + good armor would probably be OP imagine if the obj 705A had a better gun it would probably be a little too strong.

#

but 530 dmg would be good

stray pasture
# fervent agate today sidescraping doesn't help because everyone shoots in their catastrophic tu...

I mean the problem with rear mounted tanks the engine and if u shoot he right below the gun u'll set it on fire and with the way the 705a is set it it gets a 152mm with a higher dpm with 2,230 with a 650 alpha and isn't bad but while the maus is 490 while sitting 2,029 dpm and both are stock with the same weaknesses besides the 705a like u said as a better turret but it has other weak spots that counter it

#

Both are in a good spot but the maus needs a bit more turret armor and the same reload as the e100 stock gun

fervent agate
#

the turret would still be penetrable but not by shooting anywhere on it.

Yall still pay Gold for premium rounds?

cunning timber
#

Meanwhile TDs like the V5 would be literally unaffected, they get 303AP, even if firing standard was the higher DPM option they have enough pen that it's worth it

stray pasture
cunning timber
#

Exactly, plus it'd make fighting tier 10s in 8s even more painful

#

What do you MEAN

molten fox
#

I think just a frontal armor buff like 280 to let tier 8 be able to fight against it and a dpm buff would be nice

cunning timber
#

280 turret front

240 upper front plate

1s reload buff

#

Still manageable to fight

Has higher survivability than the E100 while still having a worse gun

stray pasture
#

@cunning timber it's the same gun as the e100 so it needs the same reload and 1 second will not make it better

#

Dpm makes a big difference in tanks and the e100 is pretty much a lot better

#

Or u might as well play a type 5

graceful shore
#

The e100 starts with the same gun but it gets a better one later

cunning timber
#

Same gun different stats

Halfing the difference in reload between the 12.8 cm on the Maus & the 12.8cm on the E100 will help the Maus

#

The whole reason the Maus and E100 both exist in the game is to have one as an armor/gun tradeoff over the other

Maus is supposed to have more survivability and the E100 it supposed to have more mobility and better guns. It's important to remember that

molten fox
#

Even if the dpm is not as good as the e100 as long as you have a better turret armor to be able to bounce some shell times to times while you shoot would be enough to put the tank back in the game

fervent agate
stray pasture
#

Premium will still pen because if the buff is 280 like wanting the it should go up to 300-303 as the picture says above and most premium rounds are a lot higher

#

And will pen

#

And when angled it go higher but when he below the gun it will set it on fire most of the time and if u don't do that then it's a easy trade off on dpm with normal tanks like is7/4 or others

#

Due to higher dpm

brave juniper
#

In my opinion, the frontal part of the turret should be penetrable only by TD with 350mm of pen or higher. This tank suffers already enough by a more than just low mobility, and it has only its armor to rely on. The turret, in my opinion should be reliable and not only when angled; with 280mm of armor, a leopard 1 shooting prem at 500+ mt, will still be albe to reliably penetrate the frontal turret with almost every shot...

#

The turret of this beast should be almost entirely safe in the front and still sturdy enough on the side and back to cause problems to people aiming without paying too much attention. Considering that big HE gun, arty, light and medium fast enough to outrun the turret and generally poor mobility will still be the damnation of this tank, I believe that the turret should be made really strong enough to be reliable.

#

And I know it should not be on this post, but the Type 5 should receive a very similar buff

molten fox
fervent agate
cunning timber
#

That's a TD problem not really a Maus problem

#

Not that it matters anyway, the Maus is pretty much a bottom feeder and will remain so

molten fox
# cunning timber That's a TD problem not really a Maus problem

Not really td tbh
I expect td to pen it but is more when you are bullying a 277 or e5 or is4 any type of other tank even when you well angle the turret they still pen it on the bottom of the round part of the turret…
Is like you cannot do what you should be doing even when you are doing it properly

#

Same as it got penned multiple times by a 257 at the same place but it was correctly angled

stray pasture
cunning timber
#

Yeah but you can angle against 340 pen, I'm pretty sure 340 HEAT is the highest tier 10 heavy pen anyways

molten fox
#

T58 has 370 I think needs to be check I’m not sure
340 can still pen it anything above 320-330 in perfect angle can still pen it and if it is in face hug with 300 they can pen the lower of the round part of the turret

brave juniper
fervent agate
#

at a perfect angle the maximum armor of the front of the turret of the maus is 350mm above the side armor becomes too exposed it is enough to block the shells on paper but in reality you will very rarely be in a perfect position relative to the enemy especially if you want to shoot in this case any tank with + 275mm of penetration can penetrate you easily a perfect turret angle can indeed block most of the shells but it forces you to look at the sky the whole game assuming you are always perfectly positioned facing the 340mm heat shells which will penetrate if you make the slightest movement towards them or if you angle the turret slightly too much on the side

molten fox
stray pasture
cunning timber
#

Trust me I of all people am well aware of the Maus' flaws

340 pen is not hard to manage

#

HE needs a rework (or our equipment does at least 🙄)

TDs tear it apart

But other heavies it can block

stray pasture
#

Like e5,is7/4, type 5,pz7, super and a lot others but that's due to dpm

#

The maus armor is good when angled but u still have to shoot and risk exposing cheeks

#

So it either he and risk set on fire or take 400-500 to the face and some times more depending the heavy

#

With higher dpm

cunning timber
#

The point is the Maus has been powercrept into oblivion

Can we agree on that?

@wary niche please mate, i know that this is not solemnly your decision, but since the Maus is on tracks, is there hope for a rework on the line?

wary niche
brave juniper

But the main issue being the relatively weak front turret armor is still very present nowadays... the tank is extremely slow and that make only sense, but the turret is unreliable at best and ridiculous in most occasions. An armor buff on the turret is needed

cunning timber
#

Damn, that's nuts

molten fox
fervent agate
brave juniper
#

@wary niche The reality is that the maus as a tech tree tank is now just a sponge for damage, that can be penned by most big TDs standard round and practically all premium rounds at tier X, while tanks like the IS7, IS4, Leman Russ, Rogal Dorn (and many more) can be reliably penned only with premium (and in the case of Rogal Dorn and Leman Russ it's even challenging with premium rounds). We all get it, you don't want to make a tech tree tank op and unbalanced, but the turret on the Maus screams for for a buff to make this tank barely competitive and not another memorabilia to collect dust in the garage... please mate, the whole veteran comunity is asking for this, not only few players...

cunning timber
#

Maus' biggest issue isn't what can pen it. It's what it can't defend against

wary niche

# wary niche We already did a follow up on all WWII tanks and they are still performing well ...

Hello thanks for your answer however performance monitoring is not really understood on the battlefield the point of view between players and developers is very different. the statistics of the maus are indeed correct as are those of the centurion AVRE for example as a developer everything is fine but as a player when 1 game out of 2 your tank suffers 100% penetrating shots with gold on its huge turret or another supposedly balanced tank can destroy any tier 8 in a single shot and also easily end up with +5K damage it is normal to ask questions. in reality the maus is a good tank that catches up its stats against normal players but against players like me who have accumulated enough money to only shoot gold shells until the end of my days this tank is completely unplayable you can't even look at your target with this turret it's absolutely ridiculous...

in any case even if your curves tell you the opposite when so many players agree on a subject it can be good to try something even if it means going back later. it would be enough to simply increase the rotation speed of the turret to facilitate its positioning or give 20mm of additional armor it will not break the game and it will be better received than an answer as simple as the one you gave at the beginning because it was as bad message as mine in suggesting that our suggestions are useless.

stone aspen
# wary niche We already did a follow up on all WWII tanks and they are still performing well ...

On paper sure, but when in practice, nah most WWII tanks struggle to do the same as the newer tanks the mobility of hull and turret is one major thing that is not covered by paper, as most WWII tanks are not as agile as newer tanks. And btw some of the WWII lines are 1960s at tier 8 yet face 1940s tanks tier 8 tanks. So it's easy to see the issue with game. Also new player experience will just use the new tanks old tank line don't matter

cunning timber
molten fox
# wary niche We already did a follow up on all WWII tanks and they are still performing well ...

The stats says that the Maus is performing ok and not well cause only experimented players play the Maus while sorry for the term but idk another one ( English is not my first language) newbies or average and below average just get farmed like hell in the Maus and stop playing it to play is7 e4 and premium tanks.
When the 3D skin in the winter fest was on and a lot of new/ average/ below average players played it I can bet that the stats at this time on the Maus was -> underperforming.
I’m not saying you guys don’t want to look at it or what and I understand that for the moment you are looking at cw balanced but in a near future when you’ll look back at ww2 tanks the Maus really needs a buff on its turret armor for 275-280 at the least and maybe a dpm buff cause in this state of the game it gets either derp for 500-600 or penned even well angled by all the 340 and plus premium pen and if not well angle it gets shredded by anything.
I understand you have stuff to do but please 🙏🏻 🥺

Considering the tiger maus will most likely have 300mm of frontal turret armor, like pc does. The tiger maus will have thicker turret cheeks than the tier 10 maus AND more alpha 😂😂😂

#

Another fun fact..... it will only have a 1 second longer reload for a extra 40 alpha..... and a tier lower

#

Which is MORE dpm

#

Crazy

silver palm
#

The turret cheeks on the Maus are pretty weak. It really is one of those tanks that is fun to play occasionally but is feared by nobody that knows its weakness. It is sloth slow and it should have crazy cheek turret armor to go with that weight. This tank shouldn’t be such an easy kill.

fervent agate
#

Yes, a tank with a good turret and a bad hull can get away with it, but a so-called super heavy tank with such a large and fragile turret is completely useless, it will now have to face guns doing more damage to it while having a gun and a turret that are worse than its tier 9 equivalent, one could imagine that they simply forgot about it but NO they still took the time to reduce its armor 🤡.
