#New realistic SFX for guns and engines

If we can claim, it is that the SFX of the game won't stay in memories..

At the time on PC we got mod to change the SFX by new ones, far better ones made by the community, and taken from real engines and barrels. But for some reasons, certainly jealousy, WG pc made impossible those mods to work arguing they were creating issues with the game..

I have done SFX mods for various others games by the past and, frankly, a game with great sound is just a pleasure to play, especially a big guns and engines one like wot.

I know, i am aware that like all others topics this suggestion will be ignored but, i would like to make fellows thrills a little.

The sounds are realistic. Remember the tank crew has headphone/ear protection.🙉

The sounds in game are recorded directly from real life tanks.

There is one for the gun audio too but I didn't find it. Its the same as above but with booms and explosions from all different distances.

Changing the sound means it would no longer sound like it actually sounds like IRL. Unless that is what you are asking for.

So here is my question; sorry if i sound direct : How did they succeed to fail so much the recording/post-treatment with all these means ?

The ingame sound coding is too basic : Guns need echoes, and the sounds should be different depending the place where your tank is, like in a street or a plain. For that you should create sound-boxes with special spreading properties that will cover such areas.

Turning turret need a sound file by the way, like ramming events.

You could improve the shells impacts on armor.

I mod games for years, especially for sound. Nothing hard to do.

Dynamic audio support was added for reverberation and echoes. These effects will be subtle and based on your camera position to support a more immersive audio experience during gameplay.

  • Reverberation will occur in close-range, high-reflection environments like tunnels, bridges, and narrow urban corridors.
  • Echo will occur in medium-range, high-reflection environments like wide urban corridors.
