Pretty sure they will return it back to rotation for low tiers after they do their little map update/rework.
If Liberty Falls is anything to go by, I'd say all tiers up to ERA 3 is likely.
From memory everyone went left, right or camped.
Thanks to the embankment running through the middle of the map with the trains on top it made close range brawling necessary, a welcome change imo
Yeah sooner or later someone has to push.
Tier V max for this. The hill at the bottom right allowed you to spot virtually the whole red team, and that was before tanks went 70kmh. I think this map was the one where a Scout and Patrol Duty were virtually guaranteed. Tiny map, that would be nothing more than a handbag fight at higher tiers. It was tier IV restricted I believe in the before times, maybe V.
fantastic low tier map
Even in high tiers it'd be good for the game (in a 7v7 format, WG what happened here) because it's a small map that forces close engagements instead of just camping in bases
Tier 1-6 map.
I remember playing this map with tier1-5 during the 360 edition was fun would like to see it return š
If it returns, God forbid, maybe re-name it Smallpark though.
or make it wider
It absolutely was a terrible map for anything over tier 6 !!!
I loved the map.
But since 6.0 change the game I don't know. Every tank plays almost the same now. Probably isn't fun anymore
It needs re-design... It needs to be bigger, at least 800mx800m.
I liked map, bring it back
one of my favorites
At the Very Least, but yeah it's a terrible map, and you're all bored with the game and wrong in your opinions and way of thinking. IF you think Widepark is really a map that should be a priority map for this game, and if you think it truly belongs above tier 6. If that's the case then you have a very limited scope of what world of tanks should be for high tier games and CW and probably remember Wide Park through rose tinted glasses back when the game was in it's Hey Day, if so, it's causing you to remember the map with more "Feels" than it actually deserves !!!!!!!!!
The guy who suggested in bringing back Province as in like a 1 in 100 chance for high tiers, as a meme and lols, is more on point, than the people who actually think this map should come back, and liked it for anything above tiers 5 or 6, like the original WG probably intended it for back around 2011.
Having a few small maps in the pool is better than only having huge ones
Province was re-designed and made much larger on PC and for a time, it used to even play up to tier X before it got restricted to tier 8 ( only up to tier 6 currently I believe). We want that larger version, not the original small one š
If Province comes back both versions should return. The original as an exclusive Tier 1-3 map and the PC version anywhere from Tier 5 upwards.
I wouldnāt have problem in bringing back this map if the game allowed you to pick a tank āafterā you knew what map you will get. There are other maps in this game already in the rotation that would be better with this option.
Have to agree with you here
Nothings worse than jumping in a light only to get pearl river or sunset coast
Finally, Something we agree on.. GG !!!
This is a terrible idea
I am sure you are an expert on terrible ideas. Most people would put a little more intelligence in their comments, but you seem to lack it.
Please explain to me how choosing your tank after you see the map is healthy for the game
Sorry, but I owe you nothing.
Why are you so mad? I just want to talk you about your idea
Why even mention it in the first place if you don't want to discuss it
If you read your original comment, there is nothing to indicate you wanted to discuss it. But, so you will understand, on Widepark, TDās are a terrible choice, because the lines of sight, are very rare, the map is too small. Arty is seen very early on because of the numerous buildings, and the distances are such, that you are spotted almost immediately. Heavies are flanked, and are too slow to defend bases. Mediums, and fast lights do better on this map due to the number of structures to contend with.
The idea is unhealthy for the game as a whole many maps will become unplayable something like prok for example would practically be 15v15 tds which just emphasises one of the biggest issues currently in the game it might work on an urban maps cause more people would be inclined to choose heavies which are the least problematic class in the game but I don't think that makes it a sensible addition
Also platoons would become incredibly broken as if they aren't already
If you break down what is unhealthy in this game, it would take a long time to list all of it. I would say the same about Himmelsdorf, Ensk, and other similar maps.
That's not really the point? Just cause there are many things bad for the game that doesn't justify this
I donāt believe your original comment was justified either. So, I will leave it there.
It was the idea is terrible for the game not an insult to you or anything
Try to think in a less selfish way in the future
look who is talkingā¦
?
Your thought process: I don't want to play x tank on x map so wg needs to cater to me.
My thought process: the game needs to atleast be somewhat balanced.
I'm not being selfish at all
itās just an opinion ā¦:not a bad idea either although see what you mean about completely changes the dynamics othe game, in truth certain tanks do play better on certain maps so why wouldnāt a player want to chose the right tank for the right map? other games have it and it works well.
Iād counter the proposal for WoT though with map bans instead (achieves similar and maintains randomness without affecting game start time/team mates because people take ages to pick a tank etcā¦
but this map shouldnt be above T6/7 imo, much like liberty falls, cliff, mines, Berlin and arguably ghost town and no doubt others I canāt think offā¦what do all these have in common ā¦they donāt do well with many large tanks as they have narrow lanes in concentrated areas ā¦combine with speed of higher tiers = not great
this is indeed a terrible idea
I have thought about this since it became such a big deal. As KingPin says itās just an idea. I have played this game for 10 years and am just an average player. I would like the ability to pick the appropriate weapon for the terrain, and this is termed terrible, or selfish. Personally, I would like to see how it would affect the play. I havenāt seen any real evidence that convinces it will ruin the game. I have played long enough to know WG will never do this anyway. I would be ok with selecting a map from a list and let the players decide in advance which it will be.
Imagine getting into Widepark when playing high-tier Soviet arty... There's literally nothing you can do but hide and wait for match to end š
I agree, which is why I had my terrible and selfish idea. Some people just donāt get it. So sue me.š
Some people get the other effects it will have on the game.
My idea?
Oh, sorry, meant to say my comment to other guy
I get your idea but it would cause huge issues to matchmaker and make gameplay horrible... It simple would not work.
Oh, I really donāt expect it, really, I think the best way would be to just make the map larger. In any case, I have played it enough to know what to expect, and agree that itās better for lower tiers.
This map is Way too small for anything over a 5!!!
No it's not, it's just designed for short range brawling, NOT long range sniping
Negative. If Iām driving my arty to setup and itās spotted 2x then killed in 2 minutes itās too small. Short range brawling hmm yeah: lights TDs n mediums are good at that š
Thatās the stupidest thing Iāve read this week
its the best map to NOT get bothered by arty
A joke of a map that shouldnāt see above tier 4.
Widepark is a good change of pace, tbh I played it a little bit and wasn't so harmful for tier 8 (I played Sturmtiger P with a dose of suffering)
Map is small, but offers space for sniping/brawling
There are ways to defend both bases in sniping positions, as well defined frontlines to take on
I said that its bad for tier 8/7 sometime ago, but tbh, unlike Province, its manageable
and also helped me to go through less tier 10s when playing 8s
I would say tier 5 or 6, but yeah. I wouldn't exactly call it a joke of a map, but it probably shouldn't ever see above 5. I only say 6, because WG is always saying there's not enough people playing anymore for proper MM and all that.
I'd argue it's a good high tier map specifically because it's small
With all the huge maps in rotation having something low mobility vehicles actually stand a chance on is nice
If this game had any finesse, or enough players.the map system should be able to prioritise superheavies in urban or small maps, Being a light/paper medium player I need some space, and this crappy map along with others makes me turn to other games that don't keep resurrecting things that should be left dead.
There are a lot of maps where you have enough space.
The last 4 maps that have been resurrected are very much restricted in usable playable area, Fjords might be the worst of the lot with about 40% of it being playable. The next bit of necromancy will be Ensk according to my logic, as it's small enough for CW and tier X. /s
Good for heavy tanks! I appreciate that. š¤·š»āāļø
Hope ensk comes soon!
Wouldn't it be great if we could somehow get a better 'map fit' for tank classes built into the MM, I fear that boat sailed long ago.
