#Flame throwers and missile pods.. give every one a tank with them or not at all.

TVP VTU is a tech tree tank with a flamethrower.
WG would add more, but there's honestly not a huge number of flamethrower and MRLS candidates for a tech tree
Clearly some failed to study what tanks in WWII had flame throwers during the japan campaign.
WG seems to only want to add tanks that have a flamethrower as a secondary weapon.
I understand most WWII flamethrower tanks had it as the primary, right?
A few did but for the most they where a secondary. The US commonly used them with the larger sherman models.
They would have the regular 75mm or other cannon then replace the turret machine gun with the flame thrower on a longer barrel.
Along with the Stuart tank. the Germans modified some of their panzer III's

A post I made long ago focusing on the Flamethrower mechanic for the USSR Tech tree although mostly just copy and paste but with different turret design so yeah.
take a look. but yeah I agree either introduce for a tech tree and don't make it a pay wall edition its annoying hence why I don't like premium tanks being introduced it takes away a spot for a potential tech tree canidate
M3A1 Satan
M4 Sherman E4-5 (auxiliary bow gun)
M4 Sherman POA-CWS-H1 Ronson variant
M4 Sherman POA-CWS-H1-2
M4 Sherman POA-CWS-H5 (105 howitzer with coaxial H1A-H5A flamethrower)
I had hoped we had maybe a Pershing or a M103 version but sadly no
I agree with 90% of this. The one advantage of releasing a premium tank with a brand new mechanic is the ability to test the waters with a single vehicle to know if it’s broken before diving in headfirst with an entire tree.
If the test premium is super well received, I definitely believe it should be made into a short tier 8-10 tech tree layer on.
It doesn't matter if it is broken or not. they can nerf, patch, buff it anytime they want.
The excuse they make with not doing that is beyond me and not even talking about the wining player base of "no dont nerf my beloved AVRE" (I like it too) etc I simply couldn't care the thing is they could make Pre-Meta's switching up the tanks each week/month or so keeps the playerbase up to date with the game etc
i think I also had something with cope cage armor, or rigged
I think something like composed armor proposal for WW2 (no don't give me the crap with but it's 300mm thick) don't care make it so that it is penetrable EZ fix
Germans had flammpanzers too clearly someone failed to study what tanks had ze flammwerfers
Brits had them too
Also the Calliope was kinda free.
Chirchhill gets its 6pdr, other tanks get more guns. I dont think the flammers are OP. If anybody has hit much with the caloppe, Fair play to them. And im pretty usless with my apparently OP WZ-122
I've also seen a MAUS flammenwerfer and Jagd and tiger version so this could be used I suppose.... but I think the flammenmaus had flamethrowers on its sides I think ive seen a build model idea of it.. I will come back on this on where ive seen it if its true I have no idea
Type 205/2 Maus with flamethrower
this one has been outfitted with two flamethrowers mounted on the rear of the vehicle which can fire at each side of the vehicle. Making it even harder to take down at close or even medium range as infantry and the vehicle able to hit infantry behind cover in buildings without using the cannons. The flamethrower range is also quite far.
real history proposal
5th December 1944 that proper consideration was given to a long-range, good-duration, heavy flamethrower on a well-armored chassis, when the topic came up in a conference with Hitler. Hitler was no stranger to the idea. He had, after all, pressed for the addition of not one, but two flame nozzles to be added to the Porsche Maus over a year earlier, pushing for a system with a range of 200 m. By the end of 1944, though, the Maus project was effectively over despite having a functional vehicle, there was no prospect of production restarting for it. The most heavily armored chassis in use and available at that time was that of the Tiger II. Tiger II hulls were at a premium at the time and production was focussed on both the tank version of the hull as well as the tank-destroyer version, known as the Jagdtiger, with the huge 12.8 cm gun.
Hitler’s goal was to put a heavy flamethrower onto a vehicle with enough frontal armor to be effectively immune to enemy fire and this meant very thick armor. This was the focus of the following meeting on 29th December 1944 and the heaviest armored vehicle available was the Jadgtiger, but only if a range of 200 m could be achieved, something which at the time could not be done.
just imagen this thing rolling up a corner and with a full enemy team and it just starts to blast its double fire hahahahaha whawhwhwahawhawhahawhahhaw
also I do assume he proposed one for the Tiger I and Tiger II versions like..... it makes sense if he did it for the Porche Maus
Tier II to Tier VI
Tier VII to Tier X
