modding is broken with it
then that's an issue with the mods not having been updated for the newest update
are you attempting to make a mod using the effect or using a mod with the effect? updates will often break mods even if they worked before, that is expected and the mod will need to be updated to make use of the changes and how things now work
im not using a mod from steam
i modded it myself to use that effect but it doesnt work
then that means your method of using the effect does not work anymore, you can get assistance on fixing it in the modding channels
well in addtion to that GAIN_STAT_FOR_EVERY_PERM_STAT should be broken(not modded)
when using hammers which have a knockback effect the "coil" item gives you %damage for it even tho hammers are not permanent bc they can be sold
Thats just permananent/temporary being a bad monikers for the types.
The 'permanent stat' doesnt mean stats that you cant never get rid of
sets arent permanent bc they come with weapons so effects on weapons are also not permanent
permanent = stats that stay

I'm fairly certain sets also count as permanent stats? For example if I play with spiked shield all the extra armor I get would also give me hp with Stone Skin I think. Your definition of what permanent stats are is not the same as how it is used in this game.

and the edge cases are very confusing - stats that depend on things other than stats are not usually "Linked stats", but instead permanent. Like +health from jelly is permanent.
but, it appears technomage's passive +elemental dmg is linked and not permanent. Though that depends on the number of structures you have, not a stat.

i was wrong about the stats on sets and effects on weapons, but gaining a stat for every other stat is still bugged when trying to use it in modding
what's not in the game cannot really be a bug of the game
its still sad that they removed such a cool feature bc it was in the game
and it worked for modding too
permanent is definitely the wrong word tho for something that isnt permanent
items are permanent bc you cant sell them

except for like construction items bc you cant reduce construction amount once you get them
The only way the "permanent" wording would make sense to me is when for example you get elemental dmg for structure attack speed then you decrease your elemental dmg but keep your structure attack speed. (technomage)
Sets being "permanent" would mean when you get rid of the set you keep the bonus.
Same wit effects on weapons.

How would you decrease your structure attack speed? Through improved tools and negative attack speed.
If it can even give negative structure speed.
