#Games are stuttering and stalling over time.

i am also using partitions, similar to you, with os on one partition and /home on another
Is it overheating?
Could there be power supply problems?
No, its like I said a week prior when I was still on windows it was running fine. After posting this I actually found out the swap file was running at a max of 2gb of memory... I have 16gb of ram.
swap file doesn't matter unless you are hibernating
I'm asking for specs because it could easily be driver problems'
and 16gigs is enough for warframe
Cpu: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D 8-Core Processor, Gpu: AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT, two 8gb ddr4 ram
did you install your drivers via driver manager?
Is gpu in performance or on demand mode?
?
?
The Driver manager said nothing was needed
Power and heating are totally fine. I keep an eye on my temp but idk the issue is weird cause it follows over to other less intensive games once it starts
The only way to get it to stop is to reboot my pc
Are you running any apps alongside your games?
Nah discord and everything remains closed I just run steam
Have you tried dropping graphics?
I could try
It could be amd driver problems
Switch to igpu if you have it and run on min graphics, see if it still occurs
I found out last night while troubleshooting vulcan had not entirely installed and that was something I had to fix
That could cause it
Yeah I installed that and it still occurred just it took longer to happen like an hour or so
If you need like logs or anything I have some I pulled from the last nights incident
The question is: what does the terminal display when you enter the command dpkg --list | grep amdgpu?
An amdgpu display driver and two amdgpu-specific kernel DRM services
I ran through a few games for an hour or so with no real hiccups
If that's not a problem, could I ask for a screenshot of the terminal output?
Np
Thank you. Here’s what I suggest: install the drivers from this website using GDebi; if you don’t have that program, install it.
Then see if the problem occurs again. https://www.amd.com/en/support/downloads/drivers.html/graphics/radeon-rx/radeon-rx-7000-series/amd-radeon-rx-7800-xt.html
I assume you've installed Wine correctly
After installing the drivers, it suggests restarting the system
Im getting it installed now
Oki
So what is Wine for? This is a Linux version of the driver I should just be able to install it normally, no?
Am I to understand that you don't have Wine installed, or am I mistaken? And another question: what are you running the game on? What platform?
I installed Wine just now. Im running the game through steam.
So you installed Wine from here, right? https://gitlab.winehq.org/wine/wine/-/wikis/Debian-Ubuntu
