#No WiFi as well as cinnamon using an insane amount of cpu
81 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
I don’t have a phone rn so if I can’t install my WiFi driver or cant enable my internet some other way i might just be screwed
insane cpu usage is probably because of software rendering
do you have an nvidia or amd gpu?
Nvidia pny rtx 5060
I have no WiFi
There is no option for wireless connection
Even if I manually put it in it refuses to connect
There’s just no option
if you press the button in the bottom right of your screen (and image), then select network connections
you can see your list of network connections
if wifi isn't there, you can add one
like this
I try to add mine with the ssid, wp2/3 security and i type in the passcode
And nothing happens
If I add it there is no option to connect to it
have you tried removing the ethernet option?
try rebooting or relogging into your pc
rebooting it
No hopes
It didn’t change anything
I think I need WiFi drivers like proprietary ones
But I have no way to download them
ah
go into network settings
Yeah it just doesn’t show I have wireless
Idk if there’s any way to force something or check
Because when I first installed it my WiFi worked ????
have you tried tethering?
no
your charging cable will work
will it work for an ipad or just a phone
https://easylinuxtipsproject.blogspot.com/p/temporary-internet.html this is linked in the forum
it might work for both
you could certainly try
you need cellular
I might just wake up my sister to use her phone
if this is the only fix Ts sucks
wait, you dont have the personal hotspot setting in your ipad?
is that from you trying or is that you reading from the site?
From me trying and reading
It’s been like this for 2 days
I deleted my kubuntu files so I can’t switch back
have you gone to the ipad settings after plugging your ipad in?
I’ll try it
Some stuff happened
It shows this now
My WiFi adapter and my ipad both unplugged
Even though they’re both plugged
so the setting is enabled on your ipad?
There is no hotspot setting
This is just from me plugging it in no settings changes
ok try to find usb settings
Nothing
what about internet settings
I found something
Loopback is permanently turned on
With a proxy connection named “lo”
I can’t turn it off or delete it
I can rename it
Probably leave it alone
