I just switched to Linux Mint and I've been having some issues with dragging tabs on Firefox and other browsers. Whenever i try dragging a tab to organize them left and right, it opens it in another window instead.
Yesterday I thought it was an issue from having 2 monitors, but I didn't find anything online other than just disabling Firefox's browser.tabs.allowTabDetach in about:config.
Doing that makes it so it doesn't open the tab in a new window but it doesnt let me drag it right or left at all.

Steps to reproduce:

  • Open firefox, add a new tab, try dragging it right and left.

Expected Behavior:

  • Letting you organize it, letting you drag it to the right or left.

Actual Behavior:

  • Opens it in a new tab (and if browser.tabs.allowTabDetach == false in about:config, it just doesn't do anything)

Additional Information:

  • Linux Mint Cinnamon, happens on both Wayland and Default rendering. Its updated.
  • 2 monitors, 1920x1080 180hz + 1366x768 60hz (secondary monitor)

it will only pull out a tab, thus opening a new window if you drag downwardss at all. make sure your movement is horizontal only

Yeah, uh, it just fixed itself when I switched the mode back to Default (x11) and rebooted. Might be an issue with Wayland
