i just installed linux yesterday and downloaded tf2 but it wasn't using the right fonts, the chat, scoreboard, killfeed and console fonts all are wrong (i looked in the wiki and apparently they all use verdana) i tried to run it with proton 9.0-4 and that seemed to fix most of the fonts but the console used a really small font size and i couldn't connect to any servers ("you are in insecure mode you must restart before you can connect to secure servers" also i just noticed whenever tf2 is running like this steam keeps crashing and restarting and making my pc run really badly) i also tried installing the microsoft fonts with "sudo apt install mscorefonts-installer" and it did install them but it didnt change anything ingame i also tried this mod cuz someone said it could work, but that also didnt fix it, i also had kubuntu before mint and the issue was on kubuntu too
#TF2 using wrong fonts

dude that's a super old Source-1 bug, not linux's. tf2 used windows font that is not open. nothing we can do but install some of microsoft fonts by yourself.
in this case ttf-mscorefonts-installer from Software Manager should help, right?
I did install the Microsoft fonts but that didn't fix it
