#Cinnamon battery Applet not working on cinnamon 6.6
40 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
It is a Cinnamon bug and github issue is still open
gg
Same problem
Restarting cinnamon updates the percentage but doesn't fix the issue
I've just been checking using Sudo tlp stat -b at this point
iirc the power management app correctly sees the battery percentage
Yes it does but opening it is slower than just checking with terminal
Or I could just restart cinnamon whenever I need an update
It's annoying regardless tho
yeah
also i edited the cinnamon low-battery percentage value to get the warning early
Is there any way to set it up so that the applet refreshes automatically?
maybe a background job that loads and unloads the applet but that's inefficient
and would probably break
so nah
There's something I don't understand about the fourth step, where is the editing done that's mentioned there?
@orchid wigeon That's what I don't understand about step 4
Sorry for the inconvenience
basically it's asking you to log (print) those values after they get updated in the code itself
Hasn't this bug been fixed yet?
no and since it's not a breaking bug it'll probably take a while
you can follow updates here though
the issues been closed on the github, and a new release here is out
does that mean its fixed?
if commit says so then yeah probably
although no update has been pushed to the repository yet
as far as i know
is that done like with a bunch of commits all at once or pretty frequently for singular commits?
you can check though, just refresh the update manager
yeah i did wasnt there
generally an update to Cinnamon is performed once when upgrading point releases. However if there are awful bugs more updates can be released post-upgrade
this is my first time on linux and i think the nature of open source is so cool. being able to follow this bug and see its progress is awesome, never wouldve been possible on windows
facts
fixed in new cinnamon update
