New install of Mint (New to linux overall) but input audio is broken as seen in the sample video. I haven't installed any audio stuff yet like easyeffects(idk if it would help in the first place tho). Am not used to not being able download drivers and magically fix my problems away. (Previous reddit or mint forum weren't really helpful).

Any tips or idea to fix this? (AUDIO WARNING LOWER VOLUME)

seems like mic boost is up and it shouldn't be

#

run alsamixer command in a maximized terminal,

#

press F6, choose real soundcard.

#

look at columns in F3 mode, and find mic boost . (read upper left area for full description) turn it down via arrow keys to zero.

#

additionally, check F4 mode, and if boost is way up, fix also

can use gnome sound recorder for simple recorder, or ocenaudio deb

Ah I only used OBS to test out my audio input out since earlier my audio was like that on a discord call

#

I shall save that image

ocenaudio is a full waveform recorder/editor. simple to use.

#

and disable its auto level setting

strange the alsa configuration has that as default, and possibly not on every distro

Probably caused by my iGPU somehow, im running a ryzen with a iGPU, and in my audio input and output devices in discord only list out "family 17h 19h hd audio controller" which google says is the audio chipset of it
