not supposed to use your linux admin password. use the one u set up in Windows for share access
when u set up sharing, in windows. it would have made u either create a password for sharing, or a fully-open unrestricted share

I thought you were talking about network sharing
like between two separate machines
in this case, you should not even need to enter the rootmode file manager. (that's nemo, with the red bar)
put your guest OS's user account into the vbox group
see users and groups in Mint settings
