Hello! I installed Mint on my laptop and since then I've been having issue with the wifi.
The panel shows that it is connected to the wifi, and it works normally for a while, but after 10-ish / 15 minutes, the system monitor shows that receiving drops to 0, and sending stays at about 40 bytes per second.
Turning wireless off and on again through the panel makes it work again for a similar amount of time before the issue repeats. using my phone with mobile data as a hotspot seems to work fine.

how far are you from the home(?) access point?
please ensure you're atleast a room away from the router
since you mentioned your mobile hotspot works fine, i'm guessing it only does because it's near the wireless card

my desktop is right next to my laptop and the internet here works fine, just a bit slow, naturally

i skimmed through dmesg and there are some timeouts from the wifi driver to the AP
so bad signal is more likely

I'm next to the router now and yeah it seems a lot more stable
for one it was able to install discord, I was getting timeout errors every time I tried before
and it has been playing a youtube video at 1080p60 for 6 minutes without stuttering

it also fixed the problem I had before where waking up the laptop after suspending it would make the wifi stop working
so what should I do? do I just get a wifi repeater for my room?
