I'm trying to use my tv as a second monitor, but my laptop isn't showing up on my tv. I expected it to just be plug and play, but that's not happening.

plug it firmly at both ends, the cable. power on the TV. then in the main monitor, do inxi -Gxxx see what it gives.

currently it's on some crappy 'modesetting' mode. and nvidia driver : not available

There is no (recommended) driver

Okay so I got one driver switched out and the second TV monitor is working. However, there is noticeable screen tearing and choppiness

And also the TV makes these random popping soinds

the driver im using is xserver-xorg-video-nouveau if that helps
