So I recently upgraded Linux Mint 21.3 to 22.2, and one of the reasons was to see if this problem would be fixed, but it is not.
I've been having this issue for a long time now, games have a significant performance issue (some more than others) but I never tried to fix it and it seems it only gets worse with time. I cannot feasibly play Deep Rock Galactic, and some games outside Steam (via Lutris) have a slight performance issue too (though DRG is the one that gets it worse).
Attached are the specs taken from the System Info tool.
#[Cinnamon 22.2] poor game performance

I guess because you have a really crappy iGPU
I mean, it has an extreme performance difference between Windows and Linux
There is something weird with it too since performance doesn't increase even after lowering the games' graphics to the complete minimum
wait, but I'm getting around 100fps at least from the game's counter
then why does it look like it's stuttering at 20 to 30fps on my screen?
could it be something weird happening with the fact the screen output is set to 120hz?
I did it back when I was messing around in the moment I sent that message, did not change anything
I also reinstalled Steam from the .deb in Steam's webpage, reinstalled Deep Rock too and had no effect
tried a bunch of different Proton and GE-Proton versions that I read at protondb but none worked
I am thinking it probably has to do with some weird random config file somewhere or maybe even a problem that's been dragging since I first installed 21.3 to begin with
I've been planning on reinstalling the whole system to corroborate that, but the NVMe I bought (probably) comes today later
I've been wanting to do a fresh install for some time now honestly, but that'll take some work
mostly moving files and checking everything gets to the new system
