Hi everyone, I am extremely new to the whole Linux Space, have been a casual observer for a while and have recently installed MINT in Dual Boot with WIN 11 on my System.

I have windows aswell as the Bootloader on a 1 TB Nvme
Linux Boots from that NVME aswell, my Linux System Lives on a 2TB partition on my 4 TB HDD, I am aware that those are slower than SSD or NVME but my system feels ridiculously slow. After clicking on Discord I waited a solid 5-10 Minutes for the Program to start, likewise every app and even the terminal feels sluggish.

I Followed the official installation guide to a tee including the Nvidia drivers and the system Snapshot.

Apart from that I have minor issues with my second monitor, where I cant open context menus or Drag a selection box.

Here is the Output of my '''inxi -CGMz'''

I was able to fix the Problem, after some reconsideration I realized that HDDs ARE in fact that much slower. I now have made some space on my nvme for the system and have the hdd for data and thats running fine.

LEaving up the post in case someone has a similar issue

even on an HDD, and even if it was connected via a USB 2.0 interface, starting Discord from scratch should only take about 15-20 seconds.

@lilac trellis
Fast startup is turned off, but non the less, now i have installed it on the nvme and all is working.

For good measure i did a quick test, installed A game on the nvme, ran like butter, moved it to the hdd, still works fine and the load is like 20s now at startup whoch is reasonable.

All dandy
