I'm new to Linux, I switched over because I value privacy and security. When I looked at Fedora I thought it was perfect, however when I asked some simple questions I immediately got hit with mockery. The images below are comments I received after asking some things I was curious about.
#Why is the Fedora community so toxic?

im not an expert but everyone who uses linux is usually like this, i never find anyone who knows stuff that isnt like this lol
pretty sure it just boils down to them being asked "stupid" questions all day and them being tired of it
not excusing the behavior but that's usually their schtick
I dont think that this is exclusive to fedora, there will be always be this "rtfm" guys that dont allow you to ask without memorising the wiki nor allowing human mistakes. The best thing is to ignore them and actually find people that is willing to help you.
Ik that sometimes this questions can get very dumb but at that point its just better to not answer ( although your question was pretty reasonable I dont know why they were kinda salty)
These folks are why linux has tbe nerd stereotype
Although I use Fedora, I usually avoid asking in the fedora server. Instead I just use the official docs of fedora for whatever reasons and if I need to know more I go here in Mint, there are a lot of people who can genuinely help you.
Idk that server is questionable
They shit on Timeshift by using someone who left daily snapshots on and filled up their root as an example
fedora users (and really all linux users) can be pretty toxic
i'd reccomend staying away from there
the fedora community is fucked up man
just stay away from it and it's a W
so its really just that bad there huh
glad im on mint then
the guys on reddit do a much better job at answering questions from newcomers lol, idk why cant they do that there
reddit is much worse
I dont think so
had bad experiences personally
I have had this experience with a lot of Linux users on many different Linux servers. Usually, the l337 type are the worst. They usually don't even properly read your question, and just spew their default RTFM response, as if everyone is born a computer wizard.
Can not help with people sorry
And you can likely find many of those people elsewhere too.
Feel free to ask here if you have some issue with anything Linux the OS and related tech stuff, Linux Mint stuff in #1170387126123253932 and everything else in #1170387230448177152.
Oh also if you have any issues here with any member including myself, can help with that, reach out by making a post in #1170387230448177152, pinging a staff member anywhere, putting a private report or request to talk in a private channel with <@&1395923887828766841> mention anywhere, or #🗳feedback. :)
