right now i just got back on windows
run msinfo32 and share a picture please
this?
yez
BIOS mode = UEFI, that's correct
can you hold SHIFT, then press Reboot, then select to boot from a device and your USB drive?
so i just boot into the mint usb
yes, share a pic of the selection screen if possible also
alr
I've got boot manager, the disk the boot manager is on, then UEFI: (USB name) and USB: (USB name)
choose UEFI: USB name
I assume you selected just USB before, thats why it refused to work
proceed as normal and it should show up
Okay
Yep I see it, but j have another problem
Every couple of seconds/minutes, the screen goes black for 1-3 seconds
AMD gpu
Open the terminal and type
mokutil --sb-state ; inxi -Gxxx
Now what?
share the output here
FYI, AMD uses free drivers, so secureboot enabled is not an issue here
Also it might be a good idea to go back to windows, open command prompt as admin and type
powercfg -h off
at some point
What's that for
it disables hibernation in windows, but also disables fast startup, that's known to cause problems in other OSes. GPU looks fine though
I always turn Fast startup off any time I use windows
Then you should be good
Monitor going black occasionally might be fixed after you run a system update, after installing
I selected the allocated system space for Linux and windows, how long is it gonna load?
it might take a while if it's an HDD, depending on how full it was
Ssd only like 150gb full
it'll be done eventually
