anyone know how to reset Bios admin password for an HP G8 440 Probook? i got it from a friend for like 90 bucks and secure boot is fucking up everything

newer generation laptops don't have a CMOS battery unfortunately, and HP support wont help me since i don't have receipts, I'm open to whatever suggestions, and believe me i tried every normal solution i could

and since i can't turn off secure boot i am forever stuck using my Integrated GPU and not my significantly better MX450 whenever i try to use Linux, so pls help me

oh and i can't access my bios settings without that damn bios admin password so no bios updates for me... god i hate HP...

Sorry, but most override tutorials I've been seeing do involve BIOS chip reprograming. Try the links I've given you. If it still doesn't work, you'll need to either take it to another technician that will take in your laptop, or do it yourself. Best of luck.

thanks, but i got the issue sort of fixed when it comes to my drivers via MOK Key generation, though being unable to acces Bios has been a nightmare I've had to workaround so much i am a bit exhausted and might as well just get a new computer soon

but thanks, i will try the suggestions, since secure boot has been a pain in my A since day 1

alright, didn't work... I'll have to try the Bios chip reprogramming, if anyone has any decent guides on it, I'll be eternally grateful
