Hello! I just got a new monitor that is in the name of the thread. It's supposed to be 27" and 2K. Linux Mint Cinnamon only offers 4K or 1080p and reads it at 32". I read about getting EDID files and got them. After that I added drm.edid_firmware=edid/msi_monitor.bin and it worked for the monitor! The only issue is my main laptop monitor started to be staticy since there was no 1920x1080 at 59.92 Hz on it (only 60.02, 60.00, or 144.00), and Cinnamon wouldn't let me change it. I tried changing the command to drm.edid_firmware=DP-1-1-1:edid/msi_monitor.bin based on the output from xrandr, though that did not work (afterwards, I ran sudo update-grub and sudo update-initramfs -u, dmesg | grep edid shows it used the new parameter). Is there anything simple I could be missing?

Here's the EDID I used, I got it from another windows laptop w/ the MSI monitor plugged in.
sounds like you took the long way and possibly wrong way
It feels like it could have been done much more easily
show result of inxi -MGxxx please
I turned it off and ran it again, looks like monitor 4 was the built in screen
cant have differing refresh rates
I'm not entirely sure what you mean by that
I did try this quickly though and it ended up working
I was just using what xrandr said the display was, instead of what is defining the DP-3, and I don't mind the fact that if I were to swap HDMI ports, the monitors may not be happy
x11 doesnt support differing refresh rates
even between 2 monitors
It seems to be working, don't think I enabled wayland, I'll check quickly
Yeah, running X11 and it seems to be working fine
Not sure what that means
