this is a common issue. Solution in #1295728709306683482 INDEX , section 2
for "Issues"
aight
the first solution of turn off SB, and ventoy is the easiest, and in the long term THE ABSOLUTE MOST VERSATILE
what if i dont have access to windows as of right now
do u have a working computer that has either Linux or Windows running fine on it?
in the whole household
aight
make sure secure boot is put to disabled
then see and follow #1295816480256163892 message
if u absolutely can not disable secure boot, you may still boot ventoy up. just need to register its key in MOK screen
alright thanks for the help!

well @heady cairn any news/updates on this?
no updates linux is working now ty!
what same issue?
please list the steps you took up to the point wher eyou said "linux is working"
then list the steps that followed, to the point where you say "I have the same issue again."
so i disabled secure boot and linux was working the FIRST time i plugged it in
the second time i plugged it in the same error appeared
(also ventoy wont work on my usb for some reason)

there's a part where he mentions 'leave it as MBR, but if your computer doesn't like it, change it to GPT'
so, set it to GPT to begin with.
alright ill try it
how'd it go?
not working again
wdym?
can you show a photo of where it is getting stuck?
like on ventoy?
wherever your "problem" is
@jaunty sail
well?
show photo as we discussed
alright
at the exact stuck part
what program created that error?
ventoy
sounds more like a problem with the usb stick itself
wait
see if you can do the method 1 (disk part method) to restore: #1295816480256163892 message
in that vid
i restored my disk it didnt help
but yeah i think the problem is in usb itself
since the first time i ran linux mint it was perfectly fine
and now it js refuses to run it
depends if u shut power down at the wrong time
or pulled the usb stick at a bad time
that could ruin it permanently
i think this happened
maybe both
since u said u restored it,
are you able to use Disk Management in windows to make a new partition (volume) on it?
how big is usb?
around 256 gb
how do i check it (sorry im not rlly good at understanding pcs😭)
disk mgmt defaults to ntfs volumes
check in that, or right click and do properties
google this: "validrive by gibson research"
use that to test your usb stick for worthiness
if it passes, go here:
in Assets: get the exe for windows. use that to flash mint ISO to usb
yes
does that look like it passed to you?
coughs
cuz to me it looks like fake flash
really?
so either 80% of flash cells got wrecked , or it was fake in the first place
thinks
no idea what could that be
so that means my drive doesnt actually have 256 gb on it or smthn
correct
there might be some tools to correct it so what you actually DO have shows up right, but im not sure of it.
so my dad got scammed
sighs
ill tell him to never buy usbs from temu or aliexpress ever again
absolutely
just leave it til u have time to buy another
alright
or burn a DVD-R if u have the hardware n disc
im trying to boot into linux from my usb one last time
tysm for the time and effort u put into me
alright fedora writed linux mint
and the same error
wait what if i try another distro and see if it works
pop os for example
dont have those sadly
im gonna try and run pop!_os on this thing to see if its js the problem with my usb or with the iso file
i get the exact same error on other distros
read every single thing in this article: #1295810542056902759 message
but yes, do get a PROPER USB stick, first and foremost
can i js run linux mint on oracle enter fullscreen and pretend im not in windows
