and also the another window of discord seems like that

It could just be a temporary thing if you did not do anything, I would just reload, reinstall worst case, wait it out.
Web services can and do go down, not unusual for this to happen occasionally.

Also lets not mention unofficial clients, because we would like to exist here.

@ Discovered Temporary Solution to Discord Bug
(Running Discord from the official website .deb download)

I have the same problem of Discord being stuck on "Starting" or creating a blank window and never starting. Not fixed by reinstalling Discord or restarting your computer.

My temporary fix suggests that this is indeed a client problem and not a server connection problem.

@ Temporary Fix
Eventually I figured out that if I delete ~/.config/discord folder that Discord works again but this requires me to re-login.

Eventually I figured out that if you delete specifically userDataCache.json in the config folder that Discord will start again without requiring me to re-login.

This is obviously a temporary fix because it requires me to re-delete that file every time I start my computer in order to use Discord. I don't know what actually causes the loading bug if this is a problem with Mint or Discord.

*I'm also new to Linux.

Essentially the discord client but in a browser

Choose the debian (deb) package

I appreciate that there are third party or community alternatives but I'm interested in this from a "Install the OS & it works" perspective, as I want to eventually recommend Linux to my friends but know they will go back to Windows if to use normal applications requires workarounds.

So I'd be more curious to explore if this is a Discord or Mint problem and how it can be fixed without a third party app or if the fix is the responsibility of Discord. I know that my other computer running Pop OS doesn't have a problem with Discord at the moment.

Flatpak or
deb?

#

If the .deb version is doing that, just use the flatpak and see if it does the same.

If so, it's probably an issue on Discord's end and they'll probably fix it
