You can and it's possible but it's really really long way

the guide I followed was shared to me by the creator James Lee, who made a video showing his experience with "Breaking up With Adobe"

A few things i've found out to note, plug-ins are hit or miss with the free version, with encoding plug-ins seemingly just not possible.

Codecs are a headfuck, H.264/H.265 aren't available for the free version, so you need to use other codecs for both audio and video, MP3 works for audio and DNxHD works for video- though the video codec ends up making files that are quite large due to the bit-rate required.

another video that helped me figure out how to solve the codec issues and gave me some insight into it, though recording with OBS can bypass the need to convert video files- might have bigger files compared to just converting Hvec.265 files due to increased bitrate though
