you can just give it a public domain license, as a contribution to the project, but then also anybody else could use it too

it’s only tricky if you want attribution for it 🙂

but yes you could also provide a perpetual royalty free license to the foundation to utilize it 🙂 but still maintain your ownership over the rights while enabling a third party to use it 🙂
