could someone help with dual boot? I have a small issue, or maybe more like a concern, because i'm not sure what to do. during the linux mint installation, at some point you have to choose the drive where the system will be installed. there's a slider to split the space between mint and the files already on the drive. i'm worried that the installation might delete my files, and some of them are pretty important. does anyone know if that will actually happen? will mint erase the files from that drive, or will it just split the space into two partitions and leave the data untouched?

the installer will keep your files. but as always something can go wrong, it will surely go wrong!
You should already have a (at least 1 - better more) backup of your valuable data. and tested the recovery, too.
