Fresh install of linux mint 22.2 today, have been unable to install apps over the cmd line. I am able to with software manager,
With VLC for example, I get this: (first screenshot) I have checked my mirrors (Aussie) and issue is still ocuring.
Additionally, when I try to run apt update It hangs on headers for 2minutes then spits out a series of errors.

Thank you for your help!

can you try go to Update manager? and try refresh the page

So far seems fine, hanging on headers atm

#

Okay odd, seemed to not complain that time

#

VLC still fails

try to familiarize yourself to do "sudo apt update" instead of just "apt update"

#

this will allow u to run the command as superuser (administrator)

that is indeed weird. just for confirmation, where did you install the vlc? from the software manager or the terminal?

#

because i managed to install it just fine. maybe your zara mirror are giving problems? try changing your mirror and see if that's fix it

#

try the default one
