help with latency!

guys how do i fix a fresh mint install not running "smoothly" i feel like theres a bunch of latency and i have a 144hz monitor but i feel like all the apps (that arent mint system apps) run on way lower than that ? i checked the driver manager, it says im all up to date on drivers, also im using XFCE edition

What are your specs? I'm assuming you have a "newer" PC if you have a 144hz monitor, if you do then you should've gotten Cinnamon instead of XFCE

remove the latency when opening new browser windows... changing between apps... get 144hz refresh rate across all apps?

sorry I'm not really a tech guy I just know very basic things of Linux Mint, I've got a newer PC with a 144hz monitor and everything is running fine on Cinnamon, I'd recommend switching but there are definitely bigger brains in this server so you can also wait for more people to answer

i just dont want the extra size of cinnamon i prefer the minimalism of xfce but id like to have the responsivness too

yea roblox (sober) is running at afixed 60 fps

Have you tried changing the refresh rate inside the settings in Sober?

Cuz for default it’s capped at 60
