(Note: It's my first time installing linux)

Official release notes of Vivado design suite does not include a guide for installing it in linux mint. But I've read in many forums that they were able to do so just fine. But since I don't know alot about linux yet, I want to ask here how I can safely do it.

I am on Linux Mint 22.1 Cinnamon
Cinnamon Version: 6.4.6

I am thinking if I should dual boot with windows instead to make installing vivado more straightforward. my problem is that I installed linux mint first. Is there a guide for dual booting for people who installed linux mint first. I really do not want to delete everything and setup linux mint again.

I am also not knowledgeable with the program (Vivado Design Suite), I am installing it so I don't have to borrow the university's laptop. It was just introduced to us the other day

I'm guessing you need AMD Unified Installer for FPGAs & Adaptive SoCs 2025.1: Linux Self Extracting Web Installer ?

After you download it, right click on it and go to properties - permissions, set it as executable, click ok and you should be able to start it with a double click
