I'm looking for a file manager for managing a large number of files, which is growing. I want a GUI program since it's for pictures and videos. Nemo is very slow to load, Thunar was faster but not fast enough, caja was also not fast enough, nautilus was a bit faster but I find the interface very lacking, dolphin was the fastest but since it is a qt app, dark mode wasn't applied. I'm on Linux mint cinnamon. Is there a way to enable dark mode for dolphin?

I know there's an environment variable you can set that might fix it, and if Mint's repos have kvantum then I can't imagine that failing (though it would mean installing quite a bit more)
This might work, but if it does then it will probably stop working when Mint finally gets newer KDE packages which should be relatively soon https://www.reddit.com/r/linuxmint/comments/1ec382p/linux_mint_22_theme_for_qt_apps_problem/
I assume the dolphin that Mint has is still the very old Qt5 version, so anything that themes Qt5 should work with it until it updates to Qt6, at which point you'll need to figure out how to theme Qt6
Well that's annoying, is there a GTK file manager that's as fast as dolphin? Nautilus was already fast enough (though dolphin is faster) but it has some major annoyances. Like, when I open a folder, then go back (with mouse side buttons) the folder stays "selected" and the next folder needs a triple click to open. Additionally, it doesn't have a bottom bar to show quick folder details (like number of files and such) which I need.
I do appreciate the information though. I plan to keep my mint installation up to date, since I am waiting on Wayland support to become more usable.
I'm surprised there's a noticeable speed difference between any of them, I couldn't recommend any one manager
I have all my pictures and videos (that I have shot) in one directory. It's 50000 files and growing, Nemo is very slow to load, windows is faster than Nemo.
I would expect them to all use the same command-line tools to get information, I guess it's just a matter of how fast the interface is at comprehending that
Looks like that tool can theme qt6 style too, there is a site that says so:

If you can get Kvantum on Mint without doing anything weird, it does seem to me like the best way to theme Qt apps outside of KDE Plasma
