Go into Update Manager, view, linux kernels and install a 6.14
thats the problem
I keep getting stuck on the boot screen above a kernel version that is >6.10
it freezes up on polkit.service
I don't know why it would do that as I am running 6.14.0-27 on Mint 22
then what should i do
What did you do to polkit?
nothing
Have you installed all other updates?
yes
the last messages are
[ OK ] Started systemd-logind.service
Starting systemd-hostnamed.service
[ OK ] Started systemd-hostnamed.service
[ OK ] Started polkit.service
[ OK ] Started accounts-daemon.service
and it freezes up
Might have to look at /var/log/kern.log and see if there is something else. Where did the 6.10.14 kernel come from?
mainline
6.14.0-27 i installed is from update manager
system report is
will be offline after 12am gmt+8
Have you tried https://kernel.ubuntu.com/mainline/v6.16.1/ as it was updated a couple days ago
i havent im gon try now
All I can tell is that the amdgpu driver isn't working correctly in the other kernel
its the same, still gets stuck
or freezes
this time on modem
run it?
Download and double click on the file to install
Thank you, I have fixed it
I'm on 6.16.1
(SOLVED) Cannot boot above kernel version 6.10.14-061014-generic
And didn't need the firmware?
i needed it
after installed it worked
I would boot into the 6.14 kernel and if that works, uninstall the 6.16
