NVIDIA-SMI has failed because it couldn't communicate with the NVIDIA driver. Make sure that the latest NVIDIA driver is installed and running.

Ah, yeah. Secure boot can sometimes prevent the drivers from working correctly.
There are ways to get them working with secure boot, I've just never bothered.
